⚠️ Winter Driving Conditions ⚠️

We would like to remind all of our patrons and neighbors that winter is upon us! The road down into the valley is narrow, steep, with two blind corners. Please reduce your speed and use extreme caution every time you drive in and out of the area. The road is not maintained by the city and is not plowed, salted, or brined regularly. Ice and snow will remain on the road, as the cold temperatures hold ice will become common.

Please remind all students and drivers that driving slow is not an option, it is a MUST.

We have had drives slide off over the incline, down the hills and into the ditches before. To maintain safety for everyone, drive slow, take your time, stay off your phone, and be aware of your surroundings. Thank you all for the support of everyone's safety!

Please Slow Down - 15 MPH

With the Valley Park Stables B Show happening this week, we would like to remind our valley community the importance of driving SLOW and carefully in all areas - once you start going down the hill you should be going 15 MPH or LESS! This includes driving back up the hill into the neighborhood.

This is a neighborhood with access to a public park, we have a lot of walkers, bicyclists and riders using the paved and gravel roads to get to the barns or trails in the public park - there is no sidewalk and people are out at all hours walking. There are blind corners on the road and the road is narrow - especially with truck/trailers going through. Watch for people, children, and pets.
We have a large deer population in the valley and they will pop out in groups at anytime - going slow is important.

Please join us in keeping everyone safe by driving slowly and carefully!!

Today we said goodbye to an absolute HGF barn legend - Fat Cat.
His back and leg were injured in an unknown accident - we are thankful for the boarders who took him to the vet right away to be peacefully laid to rest after being assessed by a veterinarian.
See you later Fat Cat 🌈🐈‍⬛💚

We would like to remind our friends in the valley to be aware of the rising river levels as they are likely to rise above flood level.
DMWW offers bridle trails along the river - when riding these trails use caution, do not approach or get close to water. The ground on the bank can be soft with unknown hazards under the water, the water is moving fast, falling into the water could be very easy.
Consider riding in areas and trails away from the river and give the water a wide birth at this time. Ride with a friend and let someone know when you leave your barn property.
Let's keep everyone safe - we will always place equine safety at the forefront of our minds, at this time no flooding is affecting the barns and if it were we would notify boarders directly!
Thank you and stay safe!

Shout out to our owner Jim Smith who is celebrating his birthday today! If you see Jim wish him a Happy Birthday!
Jim puts a lot of hard work into our farm from harvesting hay to specialized horse care - we are grateful to have such an amazing owner manager!!!

If you are coming to Hunters Glen Farms or Irish Run Farms tonight please be aware of the gravel - there are gravel piles on the road closest to the train tracks waiting to be spread. Please drive slow so you do not run into a pile of gravel.
Remember! The SLOWER we drive (15MPH) on the gravel the LONGER it lasts!! Driving fasts kicks the gravel off the sides of the road and is wasteful.
Thank you
