The Curly Crafter is an independently owned hobby business in Des Moines, Iowa. When I got married I ran into the issue of wanting to save my bouquet, but not knowing how. With a desire to save money, a vision and some creativity, I turned my bouquet into a stunning keepsake that will hang in our home for years to come. I posted the outcome of my creation on Tik Tok and had a friend ask me if I co

uld do her bridal bouquet. My heart was overflowing with excitement and the honor that she trusted me to create something so special to remember their wedding day. Then came the lightbulb moment.... why don't I do this for local brides, friends, and family? The Curly Crafter is reporting for duty and is ready to turn your flowers into lasting art you can cherish. I specialize in bouquet preservation and can create numerous pieces (e.g. My future vision is to offer up an online class for people to come and learn how to press their own flowers and make art from them!

Hi there 👋🏻👋🏻.
My name is Courtney and I’m the creative mind behind The Curly Crafter. I’m an occupational therapist by day, and a flower preservationist by night.

My favorite thing about preserving flowers for people in all walks of life, is knowing that I’m leaving them with a special piece of artwork that holds such important memories.

My least favorite thing about pressing flowers….. pink roses 🫠😅. Did you know that the color of a pink rose presses into a muted yellow? It’s just so odd to me and drives me nuts. Very few pink roses actually press pink and I do not know why. Where are my scientists/botanists at? Haha.

Some fun facts about me:
🪻I LOVE older adults and specialized in geriatrics for my professional career.
🪻I was born at 25 weeks gestation and weighed 1lb, 3oz when I was born.
🪻 My husband and I traveled to 12 national parks this year (and it’s only September).
🪻I lost part of my vision last year, and it’s what lead me to start The Curly Crafter. Good things really do come from hard times.

I love what I do and it’s because of people like YOU that I get to continue preserving the most special memories ❤️.
