Very excited for this announcement!
We will be attending our very first convention at this weekend in Loveland, CO!
It's been a long time in the making, and we finally feel we have enough to display at the show!
We are so excited to work alongside all the amazing vendors at these shows, and just as excited to see all the attendees smiling faces each day.

Tonight, we unfortunately learned a very hard lesson.
We here at RRE Reptiles try our absolute hardest to provide the best husbandry for our reptiles.
But, in that pursuit, we relied too heavily on electronics to create these perfect environments and it backfired on us tonight.
One of our BN Link thermostats faulted on, letting a heater we were using to run uninterrupted, allowing the temps to reach nearly 100° in the room before we caught it.
Because of this, we lost our precious female Cat Gecko, Amira.
We are so grateful we did not loose any of our other reptiles, but we are still devasted about this loss as we were actively breeding her.
The blame is partially on us as well. We trusted and relied too much on these electronics, and despite having a live thermometer in the room, we did not have temp alerts setup.
One loss is too many for us, so we are changing things up here at the Red Rocks Den and improving our system so this never happens again.
Please learn from us and always have fail-safes in place for your pets!

Ebenaui's are so fun to watch, they act similar to chameleons in their movement, but have the jumping prowess of a gecko! A dangerous combo 😅

Today, I want to celebrate the life of happiness and love that our dog Daisy gave us, and to many others.
For some of us, animals aren't just pets, they're part of us. They're family. And losing them is no less painful.
Give all your scaley, furry, fuzzy and pokey family members pets and hugs today, for us. For Daisy.
Good bye Daisy, we will miss you deeply.

New additions here at Red Rocks Reptiles! 🎉

They are our new breeding pair of Malaysian Cat Geckos (Aeluroscalabotes felinus)!
We recently welcomed these little ones in and wanted to give them time to adjust before we bothered them for photos 📸
They are known to be very shy and easy to stress so we wanted to make sure they were comfortable being handled, and my gosh are they so sweet and docile!
Hoping to provide an update on when we begin pairing them and possibly finding some eggs, so keep an eye out for that in the future 👀

A bit late, but finally getting a chance to thank for their amazing show last weekend and giving us the chance to do media coverage for them!

We took a lot of amazing photos and videos of as many booths as we could, but sadly between the rain, snow, and flat tire, we didn't get to meet everyone!
Our goal next time is to hopefully not get a flat tire again 😅

Thank you to everyone who made this show possible, and we look forward to the next one in September!

Another big announcement here at RREReptiles 😍
We have begun a breeding project for Viper Geckos, otherwise known as Carrot-Tailed Viper Geckos (Hemidactylus imbricatus)! These little cuties captured our hearts because of their interesting social behaviors and tail wagging! They are also extremely easy to care for and are an entertaining addition to a collection or a perfect first reptile!

🎊More exciting news here at RRE Reptiles... We are now breeding Pictus Geckos (Paroedura pictus)!
Anyone whos been following us for awhile now may notice we breed a lot of gecko species, but that's partly because they're just so darn cute! They also typically have manageable and easy to achieve care requirements! 😄
We hope to update in the future on progress with clutches and so on!

📢Beyond excited to announce our new breeding project: Spearpoint Leaf Tail Geckos (Uroplatus Ebenaui)!
We have been doing extensive research into the Uroplatus or "leaf-tail" genus of geckos and given their IUCN designation of vulnerable, we immediately jumped at the opportunity to take in a CBB pair!
Even more exciting, the female is also gravid! ❤️
We've had these little ones for a short time but they've already captured our hearts and we hope that we can alleviate some of the pressure the wild population may be facing.
