Re:Vision is deeply committed to its mission of supporting the Westwood community and food security. Like many nonprofits across the country, we are facing significant shifts in national funding as well as challenges to state and local budgets that impact grant funding. Unfortunately, some longtime funders needed to make tough decisions about their priorities and were not able to continue supporting programs that have historically been core to our operations. Over the past several months, we worked to identify alternative funding and adjust internal resources, but regrettably these changes required us to make difficult staffing decisions to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization.
The decision to reorganize and reduce staff positions was made weeks before employees informed the organization of their intent to unionize. Re:Vision respects its employees and their right to organize, which is why we voluntarily recognized the union as soon as we received the request and scheduled bargaining with UFCW Local 7 this week. Our hope is to work collaboratively in support of our employees and the continued health of our mission in Westwood.

Re:Vision está profundamente comprometida con su misión de apoyar a la comunidad de Westwood y la seguridad alimentaria. Al igual que muchas organizaciones sin fines de lucro en todo el país, nos enfrentamos a cambios significativos en la financiación nacional, así como a desafíos en los presupuestos estatales y locales que afectan la financiación de subvenciones. Desafortunadamente, algunos financiadores de larga trayectoria tuvieron que tomar decisiones difíciles sobre sus prioridades y no pudieron continuar apoyando programas que históricamente han sido fundamentales para nuestras operaciones. Durante los últimos meses, trabajamos para identificar financiación alternativa y ajustar los recursos internos, pero lamentablemente estos cambios nos obligaron a tomar decisiones difíciles en materia de personal para garantizar la sostenibilidad a largo plazo de la organización.
La decisión de reorganizar y reducir puestos de trabajo se tomó semanas antes de que los empleados informaran a la organización de su intención de sindicalizarse. Re:Vision respeta a sus empleados y su derecho a organizarse, por lo que reconocimos voluntariamente al sindicato tan pronto como recibimos la solicitud y programamos negociaciones con UFCW Local 7 esta semana. Nuestra esperanza es trabajar en colaboración para apoyar a nuestros empleados y la continuidad de nuestra misión en Westwood.
