PUPPY MILLS - AN INHUMANE WAY to make a living - at the expense of sentient, sweet dogs (and cats also).
Until Jan 1, 2028, it is still legal for the six remaining puppy/kitten stores in Colorado to sell their puppies and kittens to unsuspecting consumers. We must still take the time to make the public aware that whether they buy from a retail store front or from a beautiful website showing puppies playing in grass - ODDS ARE CLOSE TO 100% THAT THE PUPPIES COME FROM A DEPLORABLE COMMERCIAL BREEDER/PUPPY MILL.
Don't be fooled. INSIST on both seeing the mother dog and where she lives as well as checking out the health of the mother/father dogs through the Canine Health Information Center (https://ofa.org/)
Oh, you are told they are healthy and come from RESPONSIBLE BREEDERS? If the breeder does not give you links to the Canine Health Information Center database to validate that the the specific parents of the puppy you ar considering ihad all the health tests run . . . YOU ARE LOOKING AT A PUPPY MILL PUPPY. WALK AWAY!
THIS is a puppy mill. It doesn't look like the puppy mill photos you usually see. The 'breeding livestock' live in those white boxes. The red 7-day feeder boxes enable the breeder to load food in for a week. Notice the water pipes, providing water into each cage through lickit type bottles. This is how a commercial breeding facility (puppy mill) can house and 'care for' hundreds of dogs.
Whether it's a filthy dirty cage outside or a sterile cage like this inside, a puppy mill is still a puppy mill. No human interaction. No beds, no vet care, no exercise, and no love. Just breeding to produce puppies for online sales or for the pet stores. And, once they are used up for breeding purposes, they are disposed of. Please SHARE to help educate others.
