Here is the story of Doggie Delights On Broadway! The building where we are currently located has been the family business and a South Broadway staple for over 40 years! Fred and Aida owned Amsterdam Antiques, a European Antique store on Antique Row in the 80s. The building is the same location we are in now! They decided the European antique business was not going to be profitable for much longer
so Fred asked Aida what they should do next. Aida said, "I want a fun store, like a doggie store!" Doggie Delights On Broadway opened in 2006. In 2017, Fred passed away and Aida passed the store on to her son Tom so she could retire. Tom is there most week days! He is extremely knowledgeable about dogs, dog supplies, treats, food, and most things cats too! (We have a cat section!) His wife Trish does a lot of the social media, store merchandising and sometimes working the store! This store is a family tradition and a labor of love! It's a unique store with some nods to yesteryear and our Dutch heritage sitting around! Now, about the dogs! Two of our dogs Tazu and Zimba (Golden Retrievers) are usually at the store with Tom. Tazu wears boots and Zimba may bark a little. (He is just saying "HI!" really loudly.) Both are very friendly and would love to meet your dog! We have two other dogs that make rare appearances at the store. Rufus is a really loud, really blind Blue Heeler and Roxy is little a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua that isn't super friendly to dogs at first (little dog syndrome) so they don't come to the store much. Occasionally you will find our daughter, a medical assistant at the store visiting too!
