Animal Rescue of the Rockies is a 501(c)3 non profit Colorado corporation. Organized in 2003 by a group of friends who wanted to provide an alternative to the county shelter, A.R.R. has successfully provided foster homes and subsequent permanent homes to hundreds of dogs and cats to date. Because we don't have a shelter facility, we work exclusively with foster homes to give homeless pets the chan

ce to socialize in a home environment. This gives them the advantage of transitioning to their new forever homes much more easily and quickly. We help with transport, fostering, and adoptions whenever we can. Foster homes are always needed, and there never seem to be enough! Happy International Dog Day! 🐾💚

Today is all about celebrating the joy, love, and companionship our dogs bring into our lives. Take your pup for a hike, grab a pup cup, enjoy an extra-long walk, give ALL the belly rubs, or simply spend some extra time snuggled together. However you celebrate, make it a day full of the things your dog loves most!

And today, we’re celebrating Fenway—a sweet 8-year-old gentleman who has been waiting in foster care since May 2025 for his forever home. At 40 pounds, Fenway is the perfect mix of mellow, affectionate, and just a little goofy.

Cayenne has come a long way from the frightened little kitten who first arrived in foster care. Now, she’s a loving, playful girl who is ready for a forever home! 💚

About her:
💚 Loves cuddling in bed, pets, treats, and being close to her people
💚 Playful and chatty once she feels comfortable
💚 Absolutely loves other cats and must have a feline companion in her forever home

Cayenne came from a rural Colorado feral colony with 12 other kittens. She was the most frightened of the group, but with patience and love, she blossomed into an affectionate cuddlebug who loves to purr, snuggle, and “talk” to her people.

Here's a fun way to support Animal Rescue of the Rockies while getting beautiful photos of your pup! 🐶

Our friends at Bina Photography are hosting the SCARF Project, a fundraiser that gives back to rescue animals.

For a $150 participation fee, you'll receive a custom fine art pet photography session, a 10" fine art print, and a $200 artwork credit.

💚 HAPPY TAILS 💚

Toast (affectionately known as Tody) is a wonderful reminder of why fostering changes lives.

After spending 11 months in foster care with Katie, Toast overcame more than most dogs ever should. He battled heartworm, a blood clot in his heart, a recurring eye ulcer that ultimately required enucleation surgery, and a major dental procedure. Through it all, he remained the sweetest, gentlest boy.

Now living his best life with his forever family, Toast recently reunited with his foster during his annual visit from Florida. Not only is he thriving, but he still remembers Katie—a reunion that made everyone's hearts full.

Stories like Toast's are why we never give up. Thank you to Katie, Paula, and everyone who helped this incredible boy on his journey. We're so happy to see him living the happy, healthy life he always deserved. 💚

Mabel is a sweet, playful little lap cat looking for a very special forever home where she can be safe and loved. 💚

About her:
💚 A true snugglebug who loves laps, belly rubs, and being close to her people
💚 Playful and silly with plenty of kitten energy
💚 An affectionate little girl who has so much love to give

Mabel is 6 months old and has already needed two surgeries after swallowing things she shouldn’t, including a Nerf dart. Her forever family will need to be extremely careful about keeping small objects, strings, clothing, toys, hair ties, and other tempting items completely out of reach. Because of this, she is looking for an adult-only home, potentially as the only pet, with adopters who are committed to making her safety a daily priority.

In return, Mabel will give you endless cuddles, playful kitten antics, and a whole lot of love.
