Open Limited Gun Dog at the RMVC trial this past weekend was one of those stakes that made our hearts soar as breeders!
Reckon (Skole x DC AFC Smarti Pants), CH Rio (NFC DC AFC Bugatti x DC AFC Smarti Pants), DC RFC AFC Edge (2x NFC DC AFC Pistol MH HOF ROM x Jamba), and Edge’s babies with Biscuit — CH RFC Gretzky, Annie, Sweets, FC Greta and Nessie JH — gave us everything they had.
Annie, fresh off a litter and still getting back into the swing of things, had a slight misstep, but her run was the best we’ve ever seen from her. Nessie is still learning the ropes of running as a broke dog, and we couldn’t be prouder of the progress she’s making. The boys’ manners were impeccable and flat-footed, and their runs were simply gorgeous.
And Gretzky…his run will live in our hearts forever. Big, forward, bold, and breathtaking — the kind of performance that makes everyone sit up in their saddles and take notice.
To make it even sweeter, Edge, just coming off rehab from an injury, placed right behind his baby boy and baby girl Greta.
Days like these remind us why we do what we do. Watching generations of dogs we’ve bred give their all, with so much heart, style, and talent, is something truly special.
Reckon went on to win ALGD and Sweets took 2nd.
A heartfelt thank you to Mel, my co-breeder and trainer, and Josh, our field trial trainer and pro, for everything you have poured into these dogs. Your dedication, hard work, and belief in each of them mean more than I can say. I am so grateful! ❤️🐾
