🌸 Who Will Be the Lucky One to Adopt Our Last Spring Sweetheart? 🌸

All of the dogs from our spring photoshoot have found their forever homes…except Pineapple šŸ

Meet Pineapple, our longest resident at the City of Denton Animal Shelter. This sweet girl has been waiting since January 31, 2026, and she is so ready to leave shelter life behind and finally be someone’s beloved dog.

🐾 Spayed female, mixed breed
šŸŽ‚ 3 years old | 59 pounds

Pineapple is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate:

• Fetch‑obsessed tennis‑ball queen
• Great leash walker who loves exploring
• Knows ā€œSitā€ and is eager to learn more
• Professional cuddler after a fun day

In Pineapple’s own words:

ā€œI would love to be the sweet treat waiting for you each day. I love going for walks and playing ball… but when the day is done, snuggle time is the best.ā€

She dreams of a family who will take her on walks, toss her favorite tennis ball, and welcome her home every single day. She has waited far too long — let’s make this the season her life finally changes.

šŸ™ Please share to help Pineapple get seen.
Let’s make her the final — and most heart‑melting — adoption of our spring photoshoot.

ā˜¹ļøšŸšØKILO: A Senior Dog the longest resident at the City of Denton Animal ShelteršŸšØā˜¹ļø

Name: Kilo
Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Color: Grey and white
Age: Approximately 7 years old (senior)
Weight: 61 pounds
Status: Neutered male
At the shelter since: November 22, 2025

Kilo came to us when his previous family could no longer afford his care. ā˜¹ļø
While the change was unexpected, Kilo hasn’t let it dampen his spirit, he’s still hopeful, loving, and ready to find his forever home.šŸ”

In a home environment, Kilo truly shines. He is potty trained, crate trained and knows basic commands, including ā€œsit.ā€ His personality is calm and easygoing, with just the right dose of playful zoomies to keep things fun. He would do well in a house or apartment and makes a wonderfully well‑mannered companion.ā™„ļø

🐶 Other dogs? Kilo loves canine friends and enjoys their company.
🐱 Cats? He can be a little timid due to past experiences, but with patience and proper introductions, he may adjust over time.
At the shelter, Kilo has shown himself to be a kind, gentle and loving soul. Despite being a wonderful dog, he has received very little interest and that breaks our heartsšŸ’”.

Senior dogs like Kilo have so much love to give and ask only for comfort, companionship and stability in return.

Kilo has been waiting far too long for his second chance. Could you be the one to give this deserving boy the happy ending he has been patiently waiting for?

šŸ“ø Bonus: Scan the QR code on Kilo’s profile (comments) to watch his video and see his personality come to life!

Meet the handsome Booker.
This stunning boy is a 4-year-old Pit Bull mix who has been in the shelter since 3/2/2026. He’s a highly social dog who thrives on human interaction and is great with children of all ages. Booker is dog-friendly, making him a wonderful companion for families with other pets. He’s crate trained, housebroken (BONUS), and potty trained, so he’s ready to settle into a home environment with ease. Booker loves toys and is very food motivated, which makes training and bonding activities especially rewarding. He already knows basic commands and responds well to positive reinforcement. With a medium energy level, he enjoys playtime but also appreciates downtime with his people. Booker loves baths, making grooming stress-free. He does have a habit of jumping on people, which is something to be mindful of, especially with small children or elderly family members, but his eagerness to please means he’s quick to learn with consistent guidance. Booker’s extended stay in the shelter is beginning to take a toll on his mental well-being. He’s showing signs of stress from the kennel environment and urgently needs a foster or adoptive home to help him decompress and thrive. Booker’s affectionate nature and readiness for family life make him an ideal foster candidate who will bring joy and companionship to any home. For adoption or foster information, call 940-349-7594 or inquire by emailing [email protected].

Meet beautiful Lizzy.
She is an 8-year-old shepherd mix with the most soulful eyes. She has a very calm nature. But wait – it gets better – she is crate trained, housebroken (bonus) and knows basic commands. Her situation has become urgent to get her into foster or permanent home care. She has a medium energy level—she enjoys playtime and toys, but also loves to relax and unwind. Lizzy is food motivated, which helps with training and building her confidence. She is generally indifferent to other dogs but can be selective, so a meet and greet is recommended if you have other pets. Lizzy would do best with a foster or permanent home who can help her continue to gain confidence and provide her with a stable, loving environment. Her calm demeanor and potty training skills make her a great companion for someone looking for a low-maintenance, affectionate dog. Lizzy’s mental well-being will greatly benefit from time in a home, as the shelter environment is stressful for her after such a long stay. Fostering Lizzy will not only give her a much-needed break but also help her shine and increase her chances of finding a forever home. For adoption or foster information, call 940-349-7594 or inquire by emailing [email protected].

Meet the amazing Mr. Alfred!

Since arriving at the shelter on 3/13/2026, Alfred has shown himself to be a calm, affectionate, and highly social companion who loves spending time with people. He’s dog friendly, making him a great fit for homes with other pups, and he’s already housebroken (BONUS) and crate trained—so he’s ready to settle right in. Alfred knows basic commands and is food motivated, which makes ongoing training a breeze. He walks well on a leash and enjoys calm strolls, making him a wonderful walking buddy. With his gentle demeanor and eagerness to please, Alfred is the perfect match for anyone seeking a loyal, easygoing friend. After spending over a month in the shelter, we’re urgently seeking a home for Alfred so he can thrive in a loving environment.

Meet the handsome Danté!🐾
This little one is a 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier who has been at the shelter since 2/5/2026. He’s highly social, energetic, LOVES his toys, food motivated, crate trained and potty trained (BONUS). He knows basic commands and is so eager to please. No wonder this pup quickly became a volunteer favorite! He’s dog friendly but can be selective, so a meet and greet is recommended for households with other dogs. He’s enthusiastic and sometimes jumps on people to show his excitement, so ongoing guidance will help him channel his energy positively. Given his length of stay and the shelter environment, DantĆ© would thrive in a foster or permanent home where he can get the attention and exercise he craves. He’s ready to bring joy and companionship to a family willing to give him a chance outside the shelter. For adoption or foster information, call 940-349-7594 or inquire by emailing [email protected].

Say it isn't so.....the most adorable perfect puppy has not had a single inquiry? Let's fix that!

Meet Ollie - Your future best friend and loyal adventure buddy!

Ollie's story started a little rough-he was found as a stray alongside his four siblings and brought to a local municipal shelter. Thankfully, he got his second chance when the Denton Humane Society stepped in, and now he's thriving in foster care, ready to find the forever family he truly deserves.

Ollie is 5 months old, weighs approximately 35 pounds, and is the total package. Ollie is friendly and social, getting along beautifully with both dogs and cats. He is a smart cookie too-he has already mastered "sit" and "shake", he is kennel trained and potty trained, making him an easy addition to just about any home. His foster family can't say enough good things about him and describe him as one of they easiest puppy they have ever had the pleasure of hosting.

Ollie does great on a leash-sometimes even breaking into a little happy dance as he goes, just because life is that good. It's those moments that make him so special. He's playful, affectionate and full of charm, with the most delightful personality.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who's ready for adventures, cuddles and a lifetime of love, Ollie is your guy. All he's missing now is YOU!

If you would love to meet Ollie, please reach out to my friends at the Denton Humane Society they would love to tell you all about him.
