Hey Susie's Snackers! Today is a big day for us 🐾 it's the last day our storefront in Denton will be open. If you missed our post, it's a few posts back, and you can read a bit more in-depth on our business update.

As I continue to prioritize my health, this is a reminder that I'll be continuing my farmers' markets in the North Dallas area 🐕

Susie's Snacks Storefront has had some amazing memories, from having a private label dog food to expanding and opening a DIY Dog Wash bathhouse to winning Best of Denton in 2020 and 2022.

The love and support of this community have been everything ❤️ 🐾 we'll still be around, keep an eye on our socials where to find us!

It's time to say that our final days have arrived. Talk about bittersweet. Today, Friday, May 23rd, and tomorrow, Saturday, May 24th, are our last days that we will be open at our storefront in Denton.

It's been an amazing journey, and we can't wait to share what's next for Susie's Snacks!

Hey friends and family! For those who missed it, I was chosen as one of four small businesses to be featured during National Small Business Week on WFAA Channel 8 news last week. During the interview, a few topics came up that I wanted to clarify or address.

First, I mentioned that I was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer called Systemic Mastocytosis earlier last year. Over the past year and a half, I’ve been treated by an incredible team at UT Southwest. While my condition is considered chronic cancer, and I’ll have to deal with it for the rest of my life, I’m grateful to have wonderful doctors and a supportive group of friends and family surrounding me with love and light.

Second, the interview touched on the upcoming changes with Susie’s Snacks. At the time of the interview, I didn’t realize the changes would come so quickly. Now that the details are finalized, I can officially announce that the retail store, Susie’s Snack Shop, will close at the end of May. However, this doesn’t mean I’m quitting dog treats. In fact, quite the opposite. Without the weight and pressure of the store, I’ll now be able to focus more on the treats and develop new products that I’ve been conceptualizing for a while. The closing of the store is bittersweet, but I know it’s the right move for me at this time in my life. With daily chemo and an upcoming hip surgery (unrelated to the cancer), now is the time for me to prioritize my health and well-being.

I want to express my gratitude to my friends and family for being such an amazing support system throughout this journey. And to my customers who have become friends and family, I thank you for allowing me to be a part of your furry friends’ lives. As I mentioned before, Susie’s Snacks isn’t going anywhere! You’ll still be able to find us at the following markets:

- McKinney Farmers Market at Chestnut Square
- Krum Community Market
- Krugerville Farmers Market
- The Farmers Market Robson Ranch Texas (this is open to the public!)
