Penny helped me teach Birdie how to pony today 😃 both girls were absolutely fantastic. Penny was patient while Birdie figured it out. Birdie wanted to play with the saddle the reins and rub on Penny; She’s super nosy and super playful.

Time is flying by with Birdie! We’re on day 5 and we’re tackling a lot of firsts! She’s been handling our freaky weather and the strong winds well. Today, we took our first trip out to a pasture to put the leading skills she’s learning to the test and take a look at some obstacles. She handled it well and is a super curious horse.
So far, we have been working on leading, yielding, backing, walk-trot lunging, picking up feet, and being touched everywhere. I’ve discovered she loves her belly scratched and she’s determined to itch me back while I scratch 😂
