Wrapped our calving yesterday with a first calf heifer who best guess was at least a week late in calving. She’s living up to her nickname D. Danger (DeeDee). Her bull calf NeverNeverLand is doing great.

Well it has been a crazy last 10 days. Five new calves while we sold 4 bred females at the MN Shorthorn Sale. Additionally, the average temp over those 10 days was 4°. Safe to say we might have a few short ears in this group but all are up and healthy, even the one born this morning at -18°.

Had a chance to work with our fourth MN Shorthorn Sale entry yesterday before the snow. Here’s a photo of lot 38. Honestly it’s tough to let her go, knowing the phenomenal cow she’s going to be and because of the LEVELDALE CHIEF 008H pairing.

1. We worked the calves today and didn’t have time for any photos of the cattle;

2. Justin needs to do more manual labor to stop getting those blisters; and

3. Our marriage survived.
