SPAY / ABORT — A Hard Truth, But a Necessary One
If you care about the feline population, this is a topic you can’t ignore.
If you care about the wellbeing of cats and want to prevent suffering, illness, disease, in**st, fatal birth defects, and early death—keep reading.

Spay / Abort That Pregnant Cat.

Yes, even the one in your yard that you’ve been feeding.
Yes, even the cat in your house.
This isn’t about your personal feelings—it’s about the thousands of lives affected by a single litter.

THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE:

*One unspayed female cat and her offspring can produce over 370,000 kittens in just 7 years.

*it’s estimated that 75% of kittens born outdoors die or disappear within their first 6 months.

*Studies suggest up to 20% of kittens are born with birth defects, often due to inbreeding and malnutrition in feral populations.
*Shelters across the U.S. euthanize tens of thousands of kittens every year because there are simply not enough homes.

DOES SPAYING A PREGNANT CAT HURT HER?
Honestly? No.

I’ve seen it. I’ve been there.
I’ve been part of hundreds of these procedures.
The cat will be fine.
She doesn’t mourn.
She doesn’t go into a depression.
She doesn’t "miss" her kittens.
That’s a human emotion we’re projecting onto an animal that’s in survival mode.
She wakes up, recovers, and goes on to live a healthier, longer life—without the strain of back-to-back pregnancies or life-threatening complications.
IT’S THE MOST HUMANE THING TO DO.

Any seasoned rescuer, vet tech, or animal welfare worker will tell you the same:
Spay / abort is NOT cruelty.
Allowing more suffering is.
We’ve seen what happens when people ā€œjust can’t do itā€:

Litters born under porches during winter.
Kittens slowly dying from parasites, upper respiratory infections, or starvation.
Mothers dying in labor, leaving babies to freeze or starve.

This can all be prevented.
With one surgery.
One decision.
I will never force my beliefs on someone.
I will never threaten or bully someone into agreeing with me.
But will I quietly and consistently spay and abort every pregnant stray that crosses my path?
Absolutely.
Because I’ve seen the alternative—and I wouldn’t wish that suffering on anything.. and I wouldn’t wish any rescuer to have to go through losing anymore

🚨 PLEASE READ. PLEASE ENGAGE. LIVES DEPEND ON IT. 🚨

If you’re seeing this post, please don’t just scroll past. Like. Comment. Share. We’re begging at this point—not for us, but for the animals whose lives hang in the balance.

Our intake has hit an all-time low—not because there aren’t animals who need us, but because we simply can’t afford to help them.
We’re used to being overwhelmed with critical cases, fighting every day to give the voiceless a second chance.
Now, we’re fighting to survive.

šŸ’” Engagement on our posts has plummeted.
šŸ’” Meta doesn’t show our updates to our followers.
šŸ’” We get paid based on how much you interact with our content.
šŸ’” Tags and alerts that are supposed to notify you? They don’t work.

And worst of all? We’re being forced to pay just to make sure our own community sees our posts. Boosting costs hundreds—money we just don’t have.

Without visibility, there are no donations.
Without donations, there is no food.
No medical care.
No emergency treatment.
No room for intakes.
No rescue.
Our bank account is in the negative.
That’s not just a number—it means animals we already have go without food and vet care.
It means we cannot say yes to any animal, no matter how desperate they are.
It means they die.
We do not take in animals without the funds to properly care for them.
It's not fair to the animal—and it's not sustainable. We’ve already had to turn away emergencies because we had nothing to give.
Every single time you like, comment, or share—it helps our post reach someone who might donate, someone who might adopt, someone who might pledge.
It helps keep our doors open.
We know pledges are made with good intentions, but many go unfulfilled.
And we can't keep running on empty promises.
This isn’t just our story—it’s happening to rescues everywhere.
But today, it’s our animals at risk. It’s our rescue, standing on the edge of closing for good.
If you want to help, here’s how:
šŸ’¬ Comment ANYTHING—an emoji, a heart, a word.
ā¤ļø Like this post.
šŸ” Share to your stories or timeline.
šŸ“² Visit our page and interact with older posts too—this tells the algorithm our content matters to you.
Together, maybe we can still turn this around.
Maybe we can still save lives.
But right now, we’re drowning.
And the animals are the ones who suffer most.

🚨 Archie Needs Your Help 🚨
Our handsome Frenchie boy Archie had an important vet visit yesterday
And thank you to his amazing foster family for bringing him!
For those who don’t know, Archie is the paralyzed French Bulldog we rescued from Texas back in May. šŸ’™

When Archie first came to us, his liver values were off the charts.
He’s been on a liver supplement ever since, and today was the big day to recheck his bloodwork to see if he still needs his Denamarin (liver medication).
While we were there, we also did a urinalysis—because in rescue, we like to get as much done in one trip as possible!
Archie is… let’s just say ā€œquirkyā€ with strangers, so we’re grateful we found a vet willing to work with us and get his samples before his actual appointment.
The results so far:
• UTI detected — very common for paralyzed pups, which is why regular urine checks are crucial.
• A few Frenchie problems — an ear infection and some mild skin irritation.
The good news? Antibiotics should take care of those!
We’re still waiting on the bloodwork results, but here’s the hard part—his visit cost $410, which completely wiped out our rescue’s funds. šŸ’”
When our account is empty, not only can we not take in new animals, but it’s a struggle to sustain the ones already in our care… like Archie.
If you can chip in toward Archie’s vet bill, it will help us keep him healthy and continue saving other animals in need.
We cannot intake animals w out funding in our account..

Even $5 makes a difference.

We’ll update everyone as soon as Archie’s bloodwork comes in. Thank you for loving him ( and every animal we take in ) as much as we do. šŸ¾ā¤ļø

🚨✨ ADOPTION ALERT: MEET SHELDON ✨🚨
**Professional Heart Thief | Part-Time Swimmer | Full-Time Snugglebug**

Ladies and gentlemen, may we present… **Sheldon!**
This 5-month-old sweetheart is **ready to steal hearts, hog couches, and soak up all the love** his forever family can give. šŸ’•šŸ›‹ļø

Sheldon is officially on the lookout for his people—and when you meet him, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without him. He’s the full package:
āœ… Gentle soul
āœ… Calm and cuddly
āœ… Loves long walks, car rides, lake days & quality nap time
āœ… Fully fluent in ā€œSit,ā€ ā€œStay,ā€ ā€œWait,ā€ and yes… ā€œTalk sh\*tā€ šŸ˜†

So what’s the catch?

Well, we wouldn’t call it a *catch*, but Sheldon does have a medical condition called **hydrocephalus**—a fancy word that means ā€œfluid on the brain.ā€ Sounds scary, but don’t worry! Sheldon is **asymptomatic**, meaning he shows no signs of illness, and his specialist expects him to live a **normal, happy, full-length doggy life** with no complications, but this condition is progressive and he could ā€˜possibly’ develop symptoms over time.
Although we all believe those chances are slim.

Basically, Sheldon’s brain just adds a little *extra charm* to an already perfect pup. šŸ§ šŸ’Ŗ

šŸ’” Sheldon Fun Facts:

* He’s cat-friendly 🐱
* Kid-friendly- loves to give them smooches (they’re on his level)
* Loves dogs of all sizes
* Crate trained & rocking potty training šŸ’©āœ…
* Obsessed with bones, stuffies, and *treats, treats, treats* šŸ¦“šŸ—
* A pro snuggler and top-tier lap warmer
* Just a *little* slow with doors and new people—he likes to take his time to trust šŸšŖšŸ’•

Health Deets:
* Rabies āœ…
* Distemper āœ…
* Heartworm negative āœ…
* Parasite-free āœ…
* Currently 32 lbs and expected to be a large breed boy
(Pitbull/Great Pyrenees mix, per his DNA!)
🚫 Why Sheldon Won’t Be Altered:

Due to his medical condition, Sheldon is at **very high risk for anesthesia complications**.
We’ve consulted with multiple vets and specialists, all of whom agree that it’s in his best interest to remain unaltered.

Because of this, Sheldon will go home under a **legally binding contract** stating that he **CANNOT be used for breeding or reproduction**—no exceptions, no debate.
This decision is 100% about keeping Sheldon safe and alive, and we thank you for understanding. šŸ’™

šŸ“ **Located in Deltona, FL**
šŸš— **Transport available to surrounding states!**
āœˆļø **No flights due to weight & medical condition**

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a one-of-a-kind pup with a gentle soul, a big smile, and a love of lakes and lap time…
**Sheldon is your guy.** šŸ¶šŸ’™

**🚨 URGENT FOSTER PLEA – PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨**

At *Purrfectly Wonky Animal Rescue*, my heart will always belong to the *wonkier ones*—the broken, the discarded, the ones who require just a little extra love to make it through.
The ones overlooked time and time again… and the ones who are euthanized simply for being *different.*

These special souls may need a little more time, a little more patience, and a little more effort—but what they give back in love, trust, and resilience is beyond words.

Right now, we are at capacity due to home renovations, and we’re facing a heartbreaking reality:
**We can’t say yes to saving another life… unless someone steps up.**

And now, *Jackson* is waiting.

Jackson once had a home. A family. Someone who cared.
But now… he’s lying in a cold, loud kennel at the county shelter, confused and brokenhearted, with no idea why he’s there.
He’s *paralyzed in his back end*—whether from an injury or IVDD, we don’t yet know.
But what we do know is this: **he still wants to live.**

He has a wheelchair, and despite everything, he *zips around like a champion*.
His spirit is strong. His will to love is stronger.
But without the proper care, his body is struggling—rashes, sores, and other painful issues that come with being paralyzed and not receiving the support he needs.

He may be incontinent—we won’t know for sure until we meet him.
What we *do* know is that he deserves better than this.
He deserves soft blankets, gentle hands, a warm bath, and someone who will fight for him the way he’s still fighting.

We **can’t take him in unless we find a foster**—someone local to Deltona (within 30–45 minutes) who’s willing to open their heart and home.
We will walk beside you every step of the way—training, supplies, medical care—*everything*.
You will *not* be alone in this.

But Jackson? He *will* be—unless someone says yes.

If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to **truly save a life**, this is it.
He has no more time. He has no one else coming. **You may be his only chance.**

If you’re even *considering* it, please reach out. Ask questions. Fill out our foster application linked below.
Even one share could reach the person who says ā€œyes.ā€

🚨Sheldon Update!🚨

Today’s grand adventure? A trip to the vet! šŸŽ‰
(He says 0/10, would not recommend. But he did enjoy the extra treats.)

Last week, Sheldon saw his specialist, and today we ran bloodwork + a urinalysis to make sure all his little insides are doing their job. Verdict?
āœ… Bloodwork: Normal!
🚫 Urine: Slightly rebellious.
Our boy has a mild UTI, so he’s starting antibiotics—and is mildly offended that they’re not flavored like his pepperoni sticks. Rude.

We also talked to the vet about neutering him. Unfortunately, due to anesthesia risks (thanks to his hydrocephalus), we’re exploring alternative ways to get him fixed before he's ready to charm his future family.
Stay tuned for Operation ā€œKeep Sheldon From Starting a Puppy Army.ā€ 🫔

✨ Now for the glow-up report: ✨
Once upon a time, walking past the mailbox was a full-blown quest.
One house down? It took us over an houršŸ˜‚
Now? SHELDON LOVES WALKS. He struts. He mingles
He’s basically the mayor of the sidewalk.

Potty training? Finally clicking.
Basic commands? He's got ā€˜sit’ down like a champ.
New tricks in the works:
🐾 ā€œShakeā€
šŸ—£ļø ā€œTalk sh*tā€ (yes, you read that right. We like to keep things classy.)

He’s also learned:
šŸ›‘ ā€œStayā€
ā³ ā€œWaitā€
šŸ  ā€œCrateā€

For a pup with hydrocephalus, Sheldon’s blowing everyone’s minds. He's not just catching up—he's also stealing hearts

🌼✨ Daffodil Update! ✨🌼
Our sweet little Daffodil — the puppy we rescued at just one week old after being attacked by her mom — just turned FIVE weeks old… and she is absolutely thriving!! šŸ’›

Thanks to the incredible care of her devoted foster mom, Jeannine, Daffodil has made a truly amazing recovery.
Her wounds have completely healed, and we’re thrilled to say that once her fur grows in, you won’t even see a scar.

Her eyes are open, she’s finding her bark (and oh, she loves to use it!), she’s learning to play with toys, and Jeannine is even working on potty training already!

It’s such a bittersweet joy watching a puppy who was once knocking on death’s door now blossom into a happy, healthy little pup with her whole life ahead of her.

Daffodil will be ready to find her forever family when she turns 8 weeks old, and we cannot wait to see what her future holds. Until then, we ( especially her foster family!) will keep soaking in all her milestones and cheering her on every step of the way. 🌈🐶

One year ago today, I met a small, orange tornado of love, sass, and whiskers… and life hasn’t been the same since. 🧔
If you are new here, Ron is a manx cat and therefore does not have control over his stool and is a diaper baby!

We were just supposed to rescue this special needs boy and help him find his forever home.

Plot twist:
He found it the second he walked through my door.

In 365 days, Ron Weasley has:
🐾 Become my official door greeter
🚿 Appointed himself my shower supervisor
šŸŖ Sat front row to every baking attempt (he’s a sucker for key lime pie, don’t judge us)
šŸ›ļø Claimed my bed and my heart

He’s been there for every big change this past year. Always purring. Always present. Always perfect.

We bonded in a way I didn’t know was possible.
Like, clingy-ex levels of love.
He’s my ride-or-die. My shadow.
My little orange soulmate.

We meant to foster him…
But let’s be real — he adopted me.

Forever grateful for this resilient, affectionate, pie-loving furball.
Happy Gotcha Day, Ron Weasley 🧔
You were supposed to be a temporary rescue.
But turns out, your forever home was right here all along. ā¤ļø
