You've seen the competitors use them, many of your top horseman use them. The flag. Have you ever wondered why?
Well here's a short rundown,
A good friend of mine years ago was sitting on a young horse we had started (im using that term loosely). He had planned on riding that horse to a new place he had leased, just a few miles down the road. His wife had brought him a drink and maybe a snack or two for the ride. When that young horse saw that monster coming at her (the sack full of drinks, not his wife) she lost it. She took my friend from a confident rider on her back to a pile of flesh and bones on the ground.
The flag is a tool used to desensitize your horse to help you avoid being a pile on the ground and remain a confident rider on her back
