I lost my best friend and the brightest light in my life. Lars was the very best boy and although I would give anything for more time with him, I’m so grateful for having him in my life for almost 11 years. Lars loved life and his joy was infectious. He loved everyone he met and would gladly great a stranger with his wagging tail and instantly make a new friend. He loved chasing his ball, food, all the food, a good butt scratch, greeting you with a toy in his mouth, swimming, hogging the couch, raiding the pantry, swimming and did I mention food? He was a loved therapy dog and did monthly visits at the Center for Disabilities for 8 years. He was the very best foster brother to 6 dogs and the peskiest little brother to Elliot. He joined me on road trips, traveling to 14 states and joined on so many camping trips. He was by my side for every step of our Saranac Lake 6er and countless other hikes. He was the happiest boy and made me smile and laugh every single day he was in my life. He showed me the meaning of unconditional love and was truly happy to do anything as long as he was by my side. Life is a little quieter now without his tail thumping against the wall. My heart is broken and a piece will forever be missing but I can only hope that I can find a way to continue to spread the joy that Lars did so easily. I will miss him every day of my life💙 Run free sweet boy. Please, if you are lucky enough to have a dog, hug them a little tighter today. Our time with them is too short, but so precious. 🌈
