Well this isn’t the news I was hoping to be sharing but it looks like we won’t be having a Christmas litter after all 😕.
Maybe a final litter with my heart pup just isn’t meant to be and that’s okay! She’s been a wonderful mama to three litters (counting the surrogate litter she took in with her first litter, 15 pups at one time!) and continues to act like a puppy with her daughters, Darcy and Meera, so I’m truly blessed with her maternal instincts and health throughout this journey 💜.

Sophia Forchas, a 12-year-old girl who was shot in the head during a deadly attack at a Minneapolis Catholic school in August, was released from the hospital Thursday and greeted with cheers, roaring applause and plenty of hugs.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara called Sophia's return home as "nothing short of a miracle." 🙏❤️ https://abc7.com/18067012/

A little chick-fil-a for my VaydaBae after her date with Mister Kane 😊.

A little more about Kane:
This will be his 5th litter (I love a proven but not overbred stud).
He is 6 years old and doesn’t show or act it at all.
This breeding was a side by side AI (artificial insemination not intelligence lol), and even though both dogs were willing and ready and off leash, he was obedient and listened to commands as everything was being set up.
He has 21 titles on the backend of his name (I meant to get pictures of some of his ribbons while visiting tonight but we all got excited talking about Christmas puppy litter themes 😂), meaning he’s not only competed in conformation (those titles are at the front of his name) but he has also competed in just about everything else aside from hunting.

Between Vayda’s sweet, gentle, and bombproof nature and Kane’s versatility and drive, not to mention their lineage, health and genetic testing, and body structure/conformation complimenting each other, these puppies are going to be amazing!

Stay tuned for more pup-dates, we have an ultrasound scheduled for the week of thanksgiving 😊.

Today I received the biggest compliment I have ever received about one of my pups.

Someone, that has never met me before today, came up and asked me how I got Darcy to be so well behaved (we had our 3 small childrens’ birthday party today and my oldest invited some classmates).
I had to stop and think because I really haven’t done much aside from her normal everyday training and getting her AKC All Star Puppy and AKC CGC certification (which was before baby #3).
I just explained that I breed, I am picky about my lines and temperament, and work on shaping positive behavior at an early age/at critical developmental periods to avoid negative habits/behavior.

Today, Darcy hung out, off leash, while we hosted our little ones’ birthday party.
She was around multiple people (adults and children) that she has never met, food everywhere (if you have toddlers then you know lol), and our livestock and poultry as it was a farm/petting zoo themed party.

She never once tried to sn**ch any food, despite it being dropped on the floor (literally when the piñata was being ripped apart lol) and in tiny peoples hands that are at her level. She never ran off or disappeared, a quick look around or call and she was right by my side. And welcomed every stranger, big and small, with smiles and reading their body language on if she needed to give them space or if they were someone that would give pets and belly rubs. She was a complete doll!

Miss Vay and Mia Mi are both in heat so they stayed inside the house today but that gave my Little Darcy some time to shine and show off and she absolutely rocked it!

It’s been a busy week around here! School drop offs, pup cups, progesterone testing, and prepping for a triple birthday party with my best gal and favorite shotgun rider 💖.

Meera; “mommm the teething baby is crying again, she had us up all night and I’m exhausted.”

These girls put up with so much, living with small children and multiple species of other animals (cue my tom turkey hating dogs 😅), I couldn’t ask for better pups to enjoy this life with 💜.

Well that didn’t go as planned.
My sweet heart pup didn’t take during her previous heat cycle and appears to be going through a false pregnancy.
We’re super bummed but considering everything that could go wrong during breeding, pregnancy and whelping I’ll take this over something worse.
We’ve got plenty of babies here on the homestead so as much as I wanted to add a litter of pups I’ll be looking forward to a, possible, fall litter 🙂.

WELL WRITTEN!!!
(Please read)

The purchase of a well bred purebred did not sentence another dog to death.
The purchase of a well bred purebred did not cause an increase in the number of dogs in shelter.
Someone wanting a dog with a predictable temperament from healthy lineage did not cause another dog to not get adopted.
Someone's meticulous research and support of only the most responsible of breeders is not the problem. It is not what you should be mad at. It is not what you should be pushing the blame onto.
I am not the one who brought these dogs into the world irresponsibly and left them in a shelter. Responsible breeders are not the ones who put dogs into shelters either.
It is my home, my life, and my choice of what kind of dog to bring into it. Maybe I needed a working dog, a sport dog, or simply a companion puppy to raise of a breed I enjoy. No matter the reason, the choice to support a reputable breeder did not send a shelter dog to its death.
A breeder who health tests, temperament tests, studies pedigrees, proves a dog worthy of being bred, and only breeds when doing so is of benefit to the breed is not contributing to the number of homeless dogs.
The number of homeless dogs in the world is a problem, but it is not a problem exacerbated by reputable breeders and those who purchase from them.
Your neighbor down the street who refuses to contain his unaltered dogs IS contributing to the problem.
Your friend who impulse bought a dog at Pet Land IS contributing to the problem.
That guy on Craigslist pumping out the trendiest designer mix as fast as he can IS contributing to the problem.
Your relative who just HAS to let their dog have one litter “so she can experience motherhood” or because “she’s just so sweet” IS contributing to the problem.
Your old high school classmate who bought a high energy working breed without taking the time to research its needs and realize it was not a good fit for their household ahead of time IS contributing to the problem.
A reputable breeder offers their lifelong support. A reputable breeder would never allow their dogs to end up in a shelter to begin with. A reputable breeder makes it a contractual obligation to return dogs they have produced back to them should you find yourself unable of keeping it.
It is understandable to be angry about the number of homeless dogs in the world, but if you take a deeper look, you will find your anger is misplaced.
If you take a deeper look, you will find reputable breeders and those of us who purchase from them are just as angry, we are just pointing fingers at the right causes.
In conclusion, Blaming responsible breeders for shelter dogs is like blaming Harvard graduates for crack babies.
