Opie working on his heel movement. He’s struggling with staying next to me which is super normal but typically I can get them to work better with a treat as the motivator. Typically dogs are food motivated, which this lad is except when we are outside, and I can use food as a tool to teach them the heel command, but Opie wants to be different 😉

With Opie praise is going to have to be his reward or a pet, as he just won’t take a treat outside. He will on the deck or in my house but refuses, often times spitting it out, outside. I’d try and use toys but I have a feeling he won’t go for that (he recently started playing and enjoying toys inside the home). So I figure it will likely be the same issue I’m having with treats.

Rambo’s Thursday and Friday packed into one video!

We are working on sit/stay adding in distance and duration as well as the outside distractions. His heel dance is coming along nicely and he seems to know what it means to do! We are slowly introducing more of the autosit into his training as well!

Opie’s sessions today included sit/stay, here, and the heel dance!

We’ve had a slow go at it with how he doesn’t love to work out in the yard but I knew there had to be a solution to the treat spitting out so here we are using the world famous…. peanut butter!!! And it was a hit for sureeee!!

His heel dance is looking nicely in this video and he’s doing a good job listening and mostly staying focused!!! Way to go Opie!!
