**🐐 Today was Linear Appraisal Day! 🐐**

I am so thankful that the Arkansas Goat Producers Association was able to help get Arkansas on the schedule for Linear Appraisal in 2026!

I took 7 does through appraisal today, and I am extremely happy with how my girls scored!

Linear Appraisal is about so much more than chasing a number. It gives us another tool to evaluate the **strengths and weaknesses within our herd**. It helps us see what we are doing well, where we need improvement, and what traits we need to look for when planning future breedings.

Every doe doesn't need to be perfect—she needs to give you information that helps you make the next generation better.

I’m especially proud to see where our herd is headed and excited to sit down, really study these evaluations, and use them when making our upcoming breeding decisions.

There is always room to learn, improve, and keep building toward the type of dairy goats we want here at Goodwin Family Farms.
