OCA loses leader and vice president, Bill Tom. Bill Tom of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away Dec. 19, 2023. Tom was a leader within Ohio’s beef cattle industry, serving as the Beef Director for the Ohio State Fair for the past 10 years. He also served on the board of directors for OCA and led several youth-centric beef industry programs, including the OCA BEST program and the Ohio Beef Expo.

Continuing his passion for youth development and the future of the beef industry, Tom’s wish was to establish a scholarship program benefiting youth in the agriculture community. Memorial donations can be made to the Ohio Cattleman’s Foundation, referencing “Bill Tom Scholarship” in the memo, and mailed to 10600 U. S. Highway 42, Marysville, Ohio 43040, or by donating online at https://ncba-uvcwn.formstack.com/forms/foundation_contribution.
