This sweet lady wandered into an apartment at Forest Brook Apartments. She is microchipped, but the chip is registered to a veterinarian who is currently closed for the day. According to her registry, Diva is a 7 year old female spayed cat. She is currently safe and happy being housed and fed in our clinic overnight, but we need to get this baby home. Do you recognize her? If so, please call 740-363-2515. We close at 5pm but will be open tomorrow from 8-12.

We are so excited to announce that we now offer Heska allergy testing! This is a simple blood test that can help us discover what environmental allergen is making your dog or cat itch and scratch. This knowledge can help you reduce exposure but also can be used to create immunotherapy to treat the allergy directly! Check out this sample report. It's our hope that we'll be able to bring relief to more pets and their families with this new tool in our arsenal!

You've probably heard of the outbreak of bird flu (high path avian influenza, HPAI), but did you know that dogs and especially cats can be affected? Not only can your pet get sick and even die from HPAI, they can infect you and your family!

One of the biggest risk factors for HPAI in pets is being fed raw meat or unpasteurized milk. In addition to possibly catching HPAI, these sorts of diets can expose your pets to Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria, Clostridium, and more infectious agents that can cause serious illness. Raw diets are not recommended! Keep your whole family (two-legged and four), and cook that meat!

More than 80 domestic cats have been confirmed to have had bird flu since 2022. Experts say there's a risk that cats could transmit the virus to people in the future.
