I get a lot of questions on why I don't do board, and trains. I thought I'd make a post explaining why. My dog training programs are about relationship centered training. What this means is helping you to have a better bond with your dog. Dogs do not generalize. It takes roughly 500 reps of a command for a dog to start to be fluent in that command. What I've found with board and trains is that it doesn't teach the handler how to duplicate does the dog knows the command? Yes definitely, but that doesn't mean anything if its not being reinforced. Task training with Elli and Emily on Thursday! We work on targeting the elevator button he is getting so close next step is to work on the pressure of his pushes! We reset by walking back and re-approaching that way we can start fresh each go.

Ace and his handler Emi had their session Thursday! Check out Ace heeling up the stairs so perfectly! See how Ace checks in with Emi?! Once he gets up to the top of the steps he goes into a block as a crowd control task! Such an amazing boy and he’s not even one yet!
