Overweight dogs/cats are a growing problem for even the most attentive pet parents, and with that comes an array of concerns. Just like with people, an overweight dog/cat often faces a range of health problems and weight issues can exacerbate existing ailments. While preventing weight issues is recommended, it's never too late to start a weight loss program with an overweight pooch/kitty.

Top 10 issues related to obesity: 1. Arthritis 2. High Blood Pressure 3. Chronic Kidney Disease 4. Bladder/Urinary tract Disease 5. Diabetes 6. Torn Knee Ligaments 7. Low Thyroid Hormone Production 8. Liver Disease 9. Heart Failure 10. Diseased Disc in the Spine

56% of dogs are overweight (that's 50 million dogs)... However 86% of pet owners say their pet's weight is 'normal'.

Pet obesity can affect you too! Mostly your pockets, owners of overweight dogs/cats spend more money a year on obesity-related treatments than those with healthy weight pets.

Want to make homemade Hypoallergenic treats?

With the kibble you already have as the main ingredient?

For this recipe we will be using, Prescription Diet® z/d® d/d or derm complete

Grind the kibbles into a flour type consistency using a blender. Mix with enough water to form dough. Shape into "cookies" or spoon onto a cookie sheet.

Bake at 350° Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or until crispy. Flip over cookie after 15 minutes to ensure complete cooking.

If you are using canned product, cut the product in ½ inch slices then into triangle shape. Bake on cookie sheet at 350° Fahrenheit for 30 minutes,
flipping over after 15 minutes to ensure complete cooking.

All homemade treats need to be stored in the refrigerator no longer than five to seven days to maintain their freshness and prevent spoilage.

As you know, it is very important for your pets to stay strictly on the prescribed food and this treat will allow them to feel special and spoiled. 🐾🐶😻

These homemade treats should not exceed 10% of vour pets' total daily intake, as baking the treats does alter the nutritional characteristics of the food.

Microchip are a must!! A simple and tiny microchip (about the size of a grain of rice) is an inexpensive way to give your pet a “voice” and give you peace of mind. It gives your pet the ability to tell the person who finds him who he is and where he lives. While allowing you to know if your pet gets lost, you’ll be one step closer to bringing him or her home.

These last 2 months alone, we have been able to reunite 5 lost pets who have came into our clinic! All because a a simple microchip.

* More than 10 million dogs and cats are lost or stolen in the U.S. every year (an estimation from the American Humane Association).
* One in three pets will become lost at some point during its lifetime.
* About 22 percent of lost dogs that enter animal shelters are reunited with their families, but the rate of return for microchipped dogs is more than 52 percent, which is a 238 percent increase (according to a study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association).
* Less than 2 percent of lost cats that enter animal shelters are reunited with their families, but the rate of return for microchipped cats is more than 38 percent, which is a 2,000 percent increase (the same study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association).
Come in today and get microchipped! It is never too late… until it is!
