Travel info: Our driveway and lot has been cleaned. The Lannon Hill gravel has naturally blown clean.

Joy came up Drake Hill (without 4WD!) and said the bare spots gave her plenty of traction to come to work just fine. As she turned onto Canoe Ridge, it is also fine to drive.

Aside from normal winter driving hazards, your commute here should be fine.

I want to post a reminder about your Bordetella vaccines. With a large influx of holiday boarding and reduced hours at the vet clinics, I want to make sure you take the time to look at your dog's vaccine status. I do not have time to micromanage these so a reminder such as this is meant to help.

We continue to operate with the semi-annual Bordetella requirement. We are solidly convinced that this is the most effective way to stay healthy when many pets gather.

As a reminder, a 5-7 day waiting period applies if your pet gets the vaccine via an oral mouth gel. A two week waiting period applies if your dog gets this vaccine as an injectable shot. If you are running short of time, the oral mouth gel is the method you will want to select.

A waiting period only applies if you have allowed your most current vaccine to expire or lapse without a booster.

Critters & Such just posted their holiday hours and i believe they have been operating with staff on a medical leave. Also keep in mind that Decorah Vet Clinic only allows emergency calls for Saturday appointments. I have not seen their holiday schedule yet.

If you act NOW, you have time to qualify for Christmas or New Year's boarding.

Since you never know when an emergency will arise, it is just best to always have this vaccine. We are here to help you in your time of need - but only with current vaccines. Help us help you

People are traveling. Things are open enough that AWD or 4WD vehicles are just fine.

Update at 6:40am From what I see out here, I would hold off until the sun comes up, the county has the plows actively out and clearing this away. The wind is blowing in any kind of cleaning that occurs.

I would not come at this time. It will be better in a few hours I'm sure. I will post again if someone actually arrives with a current update.

Obviously, there's is lots of snow to clean up. The wind is blowing and covering up any progress. I will update this when I know if the county has been through so you can make it to the kennel. If you'd like to extend and pick up tonight, let me know. Be safe.
