We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Stalberger and Dr. Gowdy-Jaehnig for their many years of outstanding Large Animal services to our community. Wishing you both fulfillment, joy, and new adventures in retirement.🎉

Due to Dr. Gowdy-Jaehnig’s and Dr. Robert Stalberger’s retirements from the Decorah Veterinary Clinic, large animal/production animal services and inventory will no longer be available through the Decorah Veterinary Clinic as of January 1st, 2026. To aid in a clean transition, we ask that all farm accounts be paid in full by December 31, 2025. As of November 15, 2025, all services and inventory need to be paid at the time of service. We appreciate your years of loyalty to the Decorah Veterinary Clinic and Drs. Gowdy-Jaehnig and Stalberger apologize for any inconvenience this change in services may cause.

The Decorah Veterinary Clinic will still be available, and happy to provide care for your dogs and cats.

Sincerely,
The Decorah Veterinary Clinic

!! FUN CASE FRIDAY !!

Meet two of our DVC patients, Clementine and Copper! Both Clem and Copper suffered from a condition causing their eyelid(s) to roll inward, termed entropion. Both presented with excessive tearing, which warranted a further work up in the clinic. 🐶🐈

Entropion is a condition where the eyelid rolls inward, causing the eyelashes and surrounding hair to rub against the cornea. This can lead to irritation, pain, excessive tearing, squinting, and even corneal ulcers if left untreated. It commonly affects dogs, but can also occur in cats, especially Persians. Treatment typically involves surgical correction to restore the normal eyelid position and protect the eye from further damage. Early diagnosis is key to preventing long-term complications.

Both Clem and Copper underwent the surgical procedure to correct their entropion, and are now doing great with no more ocular irritation following surgery! We are so happy to have had the opportunity to work with these two sweethearts, and help them live a more comfortable life!
