Rabies is a deadly disease, but the good news is that it is preventable through vaccination. ❤️
💉 Keeping your pets’ rabies vaccines up to date protects more than just your pet. It helps protect your family, our veterinary team, other animals, and our community.

At Decorah Veterinary Clinic, we are committed to keeping our patients protected. We require patients to have a current rabies vaccination before receiving veterinary treatment or procedures.

This World Rabies Day, take a moment to check your pet’s vaccination records. If your dog or cat is due for their rabies vaccine, give us a call to get them protected! 🐶

-- RABIES POLICY --

Rabies is a preventable viral disease that can spread to people and pets, most often transmitted through the bite of rabid animals.

Recently, we have seen an uptick in cases of rabies in animals across the united states, with a case reported last week from a kitten in Iowa.

In light of this, we want to remind our clients of our rabies vaccination policy. With our primary focus being the safety of pets, their owners, and our staff, we require all healthy patients to have an up to date rabies vaccine or receive one at the time of their visit.

THE FACTS:
* Iowa law requires all dogs over the age of 6 months to be vaccinated against rabies.
* There are twice as many positive rabies cases in cats each year compared to dogs.
* Even indoor cats are at risk and can have exposure to the virus from bats and rodents that enter the home, or other indoor/outdoor pets in the home.

Please visit our website to view our rabies vaccination policy in more depth:

Thank you Red Roxy for putting this map together on how you can find our businesses during construction!

Please note that with current construction, it may take additional time to make it to your appointments. Please try to plan accordingly!

🚨🚧 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🚧🚨

Construction on Highway 9 is progressing! But that means it is our turn to be inconvenienced by the process.

❎ You can no longer turn north from Highway 9 onto Short Street.

✅ Instead, turn south toward McDonald’s and follow the road through the strip mall area.

⬅️ Turn left on Division Street
⬅️ Turn left on Short Street
➡️ Turn right to Red-Roxy Quilt Co.!

We’re still open and ready to see you! ❤️🧵
