Loved having Archie, Barking Mad regular and future Hall of Famer, back for over a week to spend the night!

The English Cream Golden had a great time with his buds, including best pal corgi Phil, and helped us welcome first timers Simba, Rusty, and Yonah.

Archie is the sweetest gentle giant at more than 100 pounds. If aliens ever make contact, he gets my vote to be Earth’s ambassador.

Loved having our handsome husky pal Max back to play!

Lots of fun in the sun and chilling inside with his buds to cool off with it being so hot outside.

With this extreme Atlanta heat, even our usual backyard athletes are ready to head inside after a few minutes. The dogs still enjoy bathroom breaks, exploring the yard, splashing in MegaPool, relaxing in the shade, and playing, but in much shorter bursts with plenty of water and air-conditioned breaks.

Dogs overheat much faster than many people realize because they can’t sweat like us, especially thick, double-coated pups like Max and corgi Phil.

A few ways to help keep your pup safe:

💦 Keep outdoor time brief during the hottest parts of the day

🌳 Provide plenty of fresh water and shade

🐾 Save walks and strenuous exercise for early morning or after sunset, once the air and pavement have cooled

🏠 Bring your dog inside before signs of overheating like heavy panting and excessive drooling.

Dogs can still have plenty of fun!

Outside shenanigans in shorter bursts, and air-conditioned living rooms make amazing wrestling venues 😆

Welcome back, Phoebe! 🎉

This sweet girl returned for another overnight stay and was so happy to be back hanging out with her pals.

Phoebe reunited with Max, her bigger twin bud, when he came back for daycare, and quickly became best pals with puppies Johnny and Winston, who were back too. Whether they were playing around the yard, relaxing inside, or hanging out in the dog tent, Phoebe always had a friend nearby.

Of course, she also made plenty of time for patio pets, belly rubs, backyard adventures, and snuggling with us when it was time to relax.

We always love having this beautiful, fun girl stay with us and can’t wait to welcome her back again!

And the Golden Pup Cup this week goes to… Ghost! 🏆

Ghost has been staying overnight for quite a while when Pop goes out of town, and this handsome black Lab is one big, lovable galoot who always brings plenty of fun with him.

👻 The friendliest Ghost since Casper. Ghost loves hanging with his regular pals and welcoming new friends into the pack. Whether you have two legs or four, he’s pretty sure you’re going to love him.

🎾 Always ready for fetch. If there’s a ball nearby, Ghost is one of our best at chasing it down and bringing it back.

❤️ A certified pet enthusiast. Ghost loves ear scratches and is always happy to lean his big ol’ self into you for more.

🛏️ After a full day of playing with his pals, Ghost loves climbing into bed, getting comfortable, and settling in for the night with us.

Ghost is so sweet and friendly. We love having him here!

Welcome back, Bondi! 🎉

After becoming a daycare regular, Bondi recently came back for his first overnight visit and jumped right into his six-night stay like a pro.

He quickly reunited with his pals Buzz and Goodness and became instant best friends with Clank, his smaller brown lookalike. So I dubbed Bondi and Clank the Brownie Buds 💪

Bondi spent his days wrestling, playing fetch and frisbee, racing around the backyard, relaxing in the patio shade while getting pets, and getting into plenty of shenanigans. Rain only meant moving the wrestling match into the dog tent until they could get back outside 😂

When Bondi wasn’t playing, he was cooling off with the crew, supervising my backyard chores, and claiming a spot in bed with Buzz and us after another full day of fun.

We always love having this handsome, happy guy stay with us and can’t wait to welcome him back for more daycare and sleepovers!
