PAWS of Adams County, Indiana

PAWS of Adams County, Indiana PAWS stands for Pets Are Worth Saving. We are an animal welfare group that is helping our community by fostering/adopting/ spay/ neutering and educating.

Group Name: PAWS of Adams County

Our mission is to rescue. Our dream is that one day, we won’t have to. OUR MISSION STATEMENT: To better the lives of the homeless, abused, abandoned and neglected animals in our community, to the best of our ability and as resources permit, through fostering, vetting, socialization and adoption. To grow our TNR (trap, neuter, release) program for feral and commu

nity cats in order to help control the over-population problem. To help reunite lost or found animals with their families. To bring education and awareness to our community regarding responsible pet ownership, ways they can help protect these animals and things they can do to have a pro-active role in helping us carry out our mission. WHO WE ARE: PAWS of Adams County, IN is a 501c3 non-profit organization. We are a dedicated ALL VOLUNTEER, FOSTER BASED pet rescue. Our hope is to someday secure land and a building to operate an animal shelter in the community where we can carry on our mission on a larger scale. WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP: Since we do not receive any county, state or federal funding to operate our rescue, our lifeline to helping these animals comes solely from donations, fundraisers and our adoption fees. It truly takes a village! This is where you can help! FOSTER: Open your heart and home to an animal while they await adoption. As a foster family, you provide the love and care, and PAWS covers the expense of food, supplies and vetting. You play a huge roll in giving these animals a second chance at life! Occasionally, we also get requests for a respite or compassion foster from someone needing to temporarily place their own animal in a foster home for unexpected reasons. VOLUNTEER: We have numerous volunteer opportunities! Help with fundraisers and events. Grant writing. Transport animals to/from the vet or spay/neuter clinic. Set and check humane live traps for our TNR program. Help search for lost animals. Offer to hold or contain a found animal while searching for its family. DONATE: Monetary donations can be mailed to: PAWS of Adams County - P.O. Box 482 - Decatur, IN 46733 or visit our website at www.pawsofadamscounty and click on the “donate” button. We welcome donations of food, scoopable cat litter, bedding, towels, pet toys and supplies, gift cards, and professional services such as grooming, nail trimming, bathing and medical/legal/professional services. DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE! ADOPT: Consider adding a new member to your family! They can enrich your life and offer unconditional love! 🐾 This Giving Tuesday, they’re counting on you. 🐾

Today, we come together for the animals who have no voice—those who are homeless, abused, abandoned, or simply forgotten. At PAWS of Adams County, every life we save happens because someone in our community chooses compassion.

We’re a small, all-volunteer rescue with a big mission: to foster, vet, socialize, and find loving homes for the animals who need us most… and to care for the feral and community cats who deserve safety too. We receive no government funding—our entire lifeline is YOU.

✨ How you can help today:
• Donate – every dollar directly supports animals in our care
• Foster – open your home and change a life
• Volunteer – your time truly matters
• Adopt – give an animal the forever they’ve been waiting for
• Share our posts – help their stories reach the right hearts

This Giving Tuesday, your kindness becomes their second chance.
From all of us at PAWS—thank you for believing in them. 💛🐾

We are looking for a foster (or foster to adopt) for this little cutie! 🩷
She is approximately 8 mo. old. She has started on her vaccinations, with a round of boosters due in a couple weeks, and is getting spayed this Friday.
Could anyone be her safe rest stop on her way to finding her forever home?

Meet sweet SHIRLEY again!

She was recently rescued along with her sister Laverne after living in a small pen outside for the past few years.
Shirley is a 4-5 yr. old Jack Russel Terrier mix, weighing in at around 8 pounds!

This cutie, sporting her fresh haircut, loves cuddles and being loved on...but she is also a little firecracker and full of energy!
She is great with other dogs, and children who are respectful. She is not cat tested, but we see no reason why she would not do well with a feline friend to play with!
Shirley is crate trained and doing great potty training. She is learning to walk on a leash and picking it up quickly!
She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and on monthly prevention, microchipped and just had a dental.
If you would like to " 🎶 make her dreams come true 🎶" and add little Shirley (and maybe her sister Laverne too 😉) to your family, please visit www.pawsofadamscounty to submit an application.
We ask that you please answer all questions completely and honestly to be considered for adopting.

Meet darling LAVERNE again!

She was recently rescued along with her sister Shirley after living in a small pen outside for the past few years.
Laverne is a 4-5 yr. old Jack Russel Terrier mix, weighing in at around 11 pounds!

Isn't she just a beauty with her fresh hair cut and her one brown/one blue eye?
She is a laid back little girl who enjoys being loved on and cuddled, but has her share of s***k and energy too!
She is great with other dogs, and older, respectful children. She is not cat tested, but we see no reason why she would not enjoy having a feline friend.
Laverne is crate trained and coming along nicely with potty training. She is learning to walk on a leash and doing better each day!
She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and on monthly prevention, microchipped and just had a dental.
If you would like to " 🎶 make her dreams come true 🎶" and make Laverne (and maybe Shirley too 😉) part of your family, please visit www.pawsofadamscounty to submit an application. We ask that you please answer all questions completely and honestly to be considered for adopting.

Hiya, my name is Lizzy. Pleased to meet ya. I am thought to be a 6 year old beagle/jack russell mix. I am a shy but very sweet little lady once I get to know you.

I love to look out the window and be with my people. I like other dogs and don't seem to mind cats or kids. I am not really sure how to play with other dogs or toys. I am starting to be a little more interested in toys.

I do okay on a leash, but I need a harness and not a collar because I slip collars very easily. Because of my beagle nature, a securely fenced-in yard would be ideal for me.

I do bark in my crate, but I am pretty quiet when not crated. I get pretty nervous in new environments and with loud sounds. I am a good snuggler and love to sleep under the covers at night.

Lizzy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative and on heartworm prevention.

If you are interested in adopting Lizzy please visit our website at www.pawsofadamscounty.com and submit an adoption application.
When applying, please answer each question completely and honestly. Only complete applications will be considered.
Thank you for considering adopting!
