We provide Animal Control services to all of Macon County and the city of Decatur. We also place animals up for adoption in the hopes of finding homes for the hundreds of stray and surrendered animals that come into our facility every year.

Macon County Animal Control and Care Center will be closed Monday September 1st and AC Wardens will be available for animal related emergencies only. We will resume normal hours on Tuesday September 2nd. Happy Labor Day and stay safe!

In an exciting turn of events, our favorite Boxer mix, Sneakerdoodle, has made a surprise appearance and is ready to meet his forever family!

This sweet pup has been waiting patiently for adoption for 7 months, spending the last 3 months in a loving foster home mastering the art of being the perfect family dog. He’s playful, social with other dogs, and full of love to give—though he kindly requests a cat-free household.

MCAC has two precious littles who desperately need loving homes. 💔 Sgt. Atkins is especially concerned—they're scared and overwhelmed in the kennel rooms, and we want nothing more than to get them out TODAY. 🐾

🐶 Pittie Pup (Turkey Stick) — Just 9 weeks old, this sweet little boy is a pit mix with a heart full of love and eyes full of hope. He deserves to grow up in a home, not a shelter. 💙

🐕 Chihuahua Cutie (Cookie Monster) — A 2-year-old short-haired little boy who just wants to feel safe and loved. Small in size, but huge in heart. 💛

**Mozzie has been adopted**

Macon County Animal Control will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.

But don’t worry, they are open this Saturday, and the amazing shelter animals are ready to meet you! 🐾

Mozzie is a 4-year-old spayed female French Bulldog and Pit Bull Terrier mix, full of love and personality. She’s looking for a forever home where she can be the center of attention, no cats, please!
