🔔 It’s time to start thinking about or booking your holiday boarding needs! At least 4 weeks in advance to your travel plans during the holiday season is ideal, the sooner the better. Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years are PEAK boarding seasons. Same rule of thumb for grooming too 🐩.

Wanted to start sharing my personal & holiday schedule with everyone to help make that process easier on you.

Below are date ranges I will not be booking any work during.

💜 September: 14th - 21st

🦃 Thanksgiving: 22nd - 27th

🎄 Christmas: 23rd - 7th

Want to learn how to train your dog to their fullest potential?! 💁🏼‍♀️🦮

Take the skills they already have to the next level?! 🐾

Oh oh! ✋🏻 Can we get them to listen more in moments where they’d rather be a menace to society than the dog you raised them to be?! 🤪 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’ll be starting group classes back up in August! Once the weather allows for cooler evenings. 🌬️🍂

Thinking either on Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays. To start after 4pm.
What would work best for you? 💁🏼‍♀️

Class will cover things like, how to get your dog to focus on you, teaching commands, proper socialization with other dogs, no pulling on the leash, different equipment that will help to keep your dog listening/connected to you, & more!

Outside of already scheduled sessions & a few anticipated sessions, Trust & Train will not be taking any new clients or scheduling sessions from today July 19th - August 2nd. Taking a 2 week break to enjoy the rest of my sons summer break. ☀️ 😎 🏝️

A long line is one of the best tools for training behavior the dog thinks *they* decided on. 😉 It gives room for the dogs mind & body to unite, creating a more balanced dog. Their nervous systems being able to rewire from stressed to curious, or even indifferent. Tis the goal.
A beautiful transformation. 🤩 When used to guidance, a longer line often can help resolve leash problems.

Words are so important in training, the less you speak the more you say 💁🏼‍♀️. If you can talk less to them when words do come out of my mouth, they’ll be more inclined to listen. Especially if you pair words with clear & appropriate leash communication. Like you see in this video 👀 👂 I also keep commands low pressure & build up to more obedience expectations in moments a dog is inclined to react. So remember talk less, say more. Calm responses over strict obedience. 🤝 🦮

Training & play grounds can make a great mix. Maple trained there to build confidence & Letty, to help with distraction, duration, & distance. 🙌 When used responsibly, play ground equipment is a real gem of a work space.💎

We practiced some commands too,

1. Place
2. Walking nicely on a leash
3. Down

Everyone did great! Next week we’ll be covering even more & continuing to build upon what they’ve already started to learn.
