Beagles are one of the happiest little dogs you’ll ever meet 🐾

Originally bred for hunting, beagles are known for their incredible noses, loving personalities, and endless curiosity. They are intelligent, social, food motivated, and usually get along great with kids, families, and other dogs. Their goofy personalities make them unforgettable. 🤎

A few things people should know about beagles:
🐶 They LOVE to follow scents — if they smell something interesting, their ears stop working 😂
🐶 They are very vocal and known for their signature “beagle bay”
🐶 They are pack dogs and do best with companionship and routine
🐶 They can become overweight easily if overfed
🐶 Their floppy ears require regular cleaning to prevent infections
🐶 Even though they have shorter coats, they still shed and benefit from regular baths, nail trims, ear cleaning, and de-shedding treatments

Your doodle’s coat is high maintenance, even when it looks “low maintenance.” 🐾

One of the biggest misconceptions about doodles is that because they don’t shed much, they don’t need regular grooming. In reality, the loose hair gets trapped inside the coat, which quickly turns into tight matting if it isn’t properly brushed and maintained on a schedule.

Matting is more than just tangles:
• It pulls on the skin constantly
• Holds moisture and bacteria
• Can hide sores, hot spots, and parasites
• Makes grooming stressful and uncomfortable
• Often leads to having to shave the coat short for the dog’s comfort

The kindest thing you can do for your doodle is keep them on a consistent grooming schedule year round — not just when they “look shaggy.” ✂️

Most doodles do best every:
🐶 2–4 weeks for bath/brush maintenance
🐶 4–8 weeks for full grooming depending on coat type and length

A doodle that is groomed consistently learns to enjoy the process, stays healthier, smells better, sheds less in your home, and keeps that soft fluffy coat everyone loves. A doodle that only comes in a few times a year usually becomes stressed, matted, and uncomfortable.

Today I was blessed with a mirror for Madison’s sheep barn and the sweetest card with such a thoughtful note inside. Moments like this remind me that God always seems to send love and encouragement exactly when it’s needed most.

Doodles are one of the biggest parts of my business, and I truly love working with them. 🐾 From tiny puppies coming for their first groom to maintaining adult coats year round, building trust and consistency with these dogs is so important to me.

As a mom, there are moments that make all the hard work worth it. ❤️

Madison finished 5th grade with:
📚 The highest score on her standardized science test in her school
📚 Second highest score on her standardized reading test in her school
📚 Honor Roll
📚 Read the most books in 5th grade

I’m so proud of the smart, kind, hardworking girl she’s becoming. We’re excited to begin our first year in sheep projects and agriculture. 🐑

One thing I hope to teach her through this journey is that hard work matters. While so many people have kindly offered support, I would truly love the opportunity to simply groom more dogs to help support her sheep project this year. ✂️

Every appointment helps with feed, entry fees, supplies, and all the little things that come with raising animals while teaching responsibility, dedication, and commitment.

For our grand finale…🎓

Today hit differently.

Madi got several awards today, but the ones that meant the most were for kindness and inclusion. Hearing multiple teachers recognize her gentle heart meant more to me than any grade ever could.

She also made honor roll for both 4th and 5th grade, and I couldn’t stop thinking about how proud my mom would have been. Madi is smart, compassionate, and always notices the kid who feels left out.

What made today even more emotional was that she wore my mom’s dress — Mi Mi’s dress — so it felt like a piece of her was there celebrating too. On the drive home, I listened to “Humble and Kind,” a song my mom loved. Before she passed, she wrote me a letter about how kindness, faith, family, and respect matter most. Watching Madi grow into those values feels incredibly full circle.

As we left school, Madi teared up and quietly said, “There’s some people I may never see again.” And just like that, I felt how quickly childhood passes.

More than anything, I hope she always stays humble and kind. 💛
