One week left in the Big Selloff. It ends May 23. Be a part of the bidding community by going to HansenAuctionGroup.com and making a run for something you all know you want and need! Everyone needs a mounted fish in their life! Everyone! The bass in this photo is a replica of a real California-caught largemouth that was over 21 lbs., just under the World Record! I have two of them looking for a new home! The mold from which this blank was made was destroyed and, so obviously, is no longer available on the market. Think what a great fisherman (or woman!) people will think you are when you tell them about your successful recent trip to Shawano or Kelly Lake!!

As I wrote previously, as of June 1 I am no longer accepting fish -- permanently. PLEASE do not call or write asking me to do so. It's hard for me to say "no" to someone and I don't like being put in that position. Thank you.

Okay, something other than a fish-related post . . . Before beginning my teaching career in the late 1970’s, I performed musically – guitar and vocals -- in bars, at weddings, in a band, etc., then gave it up due to time (though I kept playing for myself). About 13 years ago I had to stop playing guitar due to a finger nerve issue. Then in 2011 I damaged a vocal cord because of pneumonia coughing. About 18 months ago I picked up a guitar thinking I had to at least try it again, and to my surprise, no finger pain. So have been playing and singing (though not like years ago!) once again.
Anyway, it has really bothered me to see what the nurses and doctors in hospitals, etc., are going through – and I can’t thank them personally. So I wrote this song for them and others who are putting their health and lives on the line for the rest of us. I’m not one to wear my patriotism on my sleeve, so I don’t see this as a patriotic song, but rather a simple “thank you.” The song is entitled, “America Will Prevail.” I wrote it to the beat of a march. The guitar is an Andrew White Model EOS 2S2 in spalted maple. I’m not a professional at any of this and don’t pretend to be. I hope you like it.
