I posted this video on our Tik Tok page and it got a lot of interest and people found it educational so I thought it was worth posting here. This is a feral kitten that we got fixed and vaccinated but when we went to return it to its home a few days later it behaved very strange. It seemed disoriented and initially acted friendly (odd because it was a feral cat) then it lunged and hissed and literally tried to attack the owner. Fortunately she was wearing boots and jeans and she was able to get it off of her leg without getting bit or scratched. Weirdly, but thankfully, the cat went back to the trap and got in. Later that day the cat started exhibiting this strange yawning/twitching behavior shown in the video. The cat later tested positive for rabies. It was a scary and sad experience but really makes me appreciate the importance of rabies vaccines.

We have been contacted about this cat in Comanche that is making a strange noise when he breaths. Does anyone know who this cat belongs to? We would like to get get him examined by a vet but need to get some donations to cover the expenses. I think we need to raise at least $250 to cover blood and possibly x-rays.

These three cats are looking for a new home or homes as they are not in a safe place due to a mean next door neighbor. Patches and Casper are both very friendly and fixed and rabies vaccinated. Blaze is fine being around people but will run away if you try to pet her. Update, Nora was seen at Greens Creek vet and determined to have a fractured pelvis but the vet felt that it can heal with time and limited movement. Nora also had an upper respiratory infection which needed antibiotics. Our bill was $248.98 and we have received $135 in donations.

We are seeking donations so that we can get this kitten seen by a vet after she was hit by a car. She probably needs x-rays and an examination at a minimum so just guessing we need to raise about $200. These three kittens are in need of a home or homes. At the moment they are not people friendly, but they have not been worked with and will likely get more friendly the more they get used to people. The adoption fee will be waived, we will get them spayed and neutered and rabies vaccinated.

We have been asked to help find homes for a large number of cats, some feral some friendly. I’m going to start with a few of the friendly cats. These cats could be inside pets or outside cats. If they will be rehomed as outside or barn cats, they will need to be confined for two weeks before being released.

These are cats and kittens in Comanche County that are needing homes as barn cats or some might be friendly enough to be inside pets.

TNR Texas was contacted by someone in Comanche County (about a 1.5 hr drive SW of Fort Worth, and 2.5 hrs from Austin) who has approximately 80 feral and semi-feral cats that need relocation. Some have been TNR'd. Some are kittens. Most will need barn cat/warehouse/backyard placements, but some can be picked up and are adoptable.

The property is on the market and will be sold sometime in the very near future. And when that happens, the fate of these cats is not likely to be good. They have tried to rehome as many as they could as well as getting them fixed, but there are not a lot of viable options in the area.

We have been working on bringing in one or more large groups that have the capacity to help with a rescue this large, but in the meantime, if any groups within a few hours of this area might be able to take in a few, email us at [email protected] and we will put you in touch with the caretaker.

A while back we posted requesting donations to help cover the cost of spay neuter for some ownerless cats or owners that could not afford the fee and I wanted to share some of the cats that we were able to get fixed and vaccinated thanks to those donations.
