I had to walk away today. I spent hours working on computer work, future spay runs, answering messages..
Sadly the messages are pouring in. I have a colony of 20, 40, 60 and I need help or I need them removed. Often followed by the word NOW.
Us rescues locally running so many spay and neuter runs, spots, literally contact us we can get your cat scheduled someplace, it might costs 100 because we can't give away spots and pay for your cat.
So many cats gave birth today and I'm drowning in people wanting me to take in mom and babies. Often followed by it's urgent, I cant take them in I have dogs, I have other cats, no i don't have a bathroom.
Like no I'm sorry. There is no reason as to why your cat is not spayed. I won't tie up my fosters for 8-10 weeks. I offer solutions or you can ask another rescue.
So many free kittens are being posted online right now. Free kittens is the wrong answer. Out of all the free kittens maybe 5% will actually be fixed. There is a saying that free kittens make more free kittens. Which keep rescues very busy. If you reach out to rescues with 7-10 week old kittens often they can find space because it's a quick spay or neuter and up for adoption.
I and my fosters will not become a hoarder because you didn't fix your cat when us rescues were screaming FIX YOUR CAT.
But it's not my cat.
If I had a dollar for every time someone said that to me I wouldn't be asking for money right now to help catch up the bills.
I finally had to walk away from the computer. It's a lot. I'm not drowning in fosters and honestly I'm not looking to add more fosters.
We need you to actively get your animals fixed.
Thank you all for taking care of Coco today. She can't wait for Friday.
