I was born and raised in a small town in Iowa. We grew up in the country near Pilot Mound with horses, cattle, and the normal farm animals. But I was also fortunate to have parents that liked exotic animals, so we had black bear, raccoons, skunks, and even a mountain lion as pets. So my love and respect for nature and animals came at an early age. When I was a young boy I would "draw" wars with
the neighbor boy at my Grandma's house. We would spend hours drawing battlefields and playing with army men, or the little plastic cowboy and indians they used to have. So I guess I have drawn for awhile. While in high school at Murray, Iowa my high school art teacher, Mr. Nowakowski, took an interst in my work and me. Thanks to him and my talent from God I have enjoyed drawing and painting anything and everything. I like to find new ways of showing off my talent, so I am always experimenting with new medium, from hand saws, to feathers, to canvas. I really enjoy the happiness that my art work has given people.
