Fostering saves livesā€”it gives rescue dogs a quiet space to decompress, learn basic manners, and show their true personalities while waiting for their forever families. Every dog placed in a YCSPCA foster home opens up a kennel at the shelter, allowing another animal to be saved.

Whoā€™s black and white and absolutely adorable? Audrey!

Audrey is about a year old and she is a fun and lovable girl looking for her fur-ever home šŸ©· She is a moderate-energy pup who loves her walks and playtime, but will never turn down some cuddles. She is the perfect size to curl up on your lap while you work from home, weighing in at only 9lbs.

Audrey loves other dogs and has become BFFs with the other young dog in her foster home. She has a more dominant personality and does best with easygoing dogs who will respect her need to be the center of attention. Audrey has done great with older kids, but needs a kitty-free home.

Our best guess is that Audrey is a chihuahua mix, probably with some sort of terrier mixed in there, too. She has been doing great with her housetraining using a dog door and is very food-motivated and smart.

Meet Dean & Garrett, the trusty dusty tuxedo twins! šŸ¤µšŸ–¤šŸ¤

Dean is a sweet, friendly, outgoing kitty who begins purring the moment he sees you ā€” basically a tiny black-and-white motorboat in kitten form. He loves being held (preferably on his back like a baby), petted, snuggled, and admired. Itā€™s difficult for his foster family to get work done as he is so cute and fun to be around šŸ˜ø

Dean is also a world-class kitten athlete. His main sport is wrestling and playing with his brother Garrett with additional events like chase, tumble, sneak attack, dramatic bunny kicks, and synchronized zoomies. Dean and Garrett believe that anytime is a good time to play šŸ˜¼

Deanā€™s eye was surgically removed after suffering a serious eye infection when he was a little kitten. However, he most certainly has not received this memo as a limitation. He is active, confident, playful, joyful, and entirely convinced that life is meant to be tackled at full kitten speed šŸ¤­

With his adorable long white whiskers, Garrett is the kind of kitten who makes it very hard to get anything done because he is too busy being cute. And funny. And sweet. He is adorable, social, affectionate, and a non-stop purr machine. Pick him up? Purr. Pet him? Purr. Look in his general direction? Also purr šŸ„°

Garrett loves people, snuggles, playtime, and most of all, his brother Dean. These two tuxedo boys make the most handsome pair of tiny gentlemen in formalwear. They chase, tumble, wrestle, pounce, and bunny-kick their way through the day, then recharge for their next round of brotherly chaos šŸˆā€ā¬›šŸˆā€ā¬›

Dean and Garrett are brothers, best friends, sparring partners, and co-conspirators. These two would be thrilled to be adopted together to continue making mischief but could also be adopted separately to homes with other cats šŸ¾

Physical Description: Yahtzee is an adorable black and white kitten with a perfect circle spot right in the middle of her chest!

Personality: Yahtzee is the perfect blend of playful and calm. She is more than happy to race around with her siblings & check out new toys and new people, but is also content to be scooped up by her humans for some chin scratches or a nap session. Yahtzee has grown up around her siblings, Bingo and Scrabble, 3 adult resident cats and a resident border collie. She would be happy in any environment with lots of playtime and affection. Yahtzee must be adopted with another kitten or to a home with resident cats due to her young age and need for ongoing socialization.

Yahtzee and her siblings are awaiting their spay/neuter surgeries on September 7th but are available for adoption interviews and an in person meeting the weekend of the 28th.

Personality: Bingo is a sweet and sensitive guy. He prefers to let his sisters test the waters first when it comes to new animals or people, but once he realizes good things are aplenty he's an absolute joy to watch explore. Bingo loves to be held and have his chin or belly scratched and is perfectly content to watch the world from the safety of a cozy lap. Bingo has grown up around his two sisters, Yahtzee and Scrabble, 3 resident adult cats and a resident border collie. He would likely do fine in any environment with a slow introduction and lots of love, but must be adopted with another young kitten or to homes with other cats as he tends to feel most comfortable with other animals around.

Bingo and his sisters are awaiting their spay/neuter surgeries on September 7th but are available for Zoom virtual visits in the meantime or in person visits in the Davis area as soon as the 28th.

Personality: Scrabble is a bold, brave, confident girl who is the first of her litter to explore new toys, new people and new places. This little girl has more s***k in the tip of her tail than some kittens have in their whole body! She has no fears and hasn't wasted a second walking right up to our resident cats to say hi and start playing. Scrabble has grown up with her siblings Bingo and Yahtzee, several resident adult cats and a resident border collie. She has a lot of energy and needs to be adopted with another kitten or to homes with playful cats.

Scrabble and her siblings are awaiting their spay/neuter surgeries on Sept 7th and are available for pre adoption meetings only at this time.

Itā€™s Wednesday, and that means itā€™s time for another Where Are They Now Wednesday!

We have a double feature this week! Turk and Emerson came to the Yolo SPCA back in 2020 and they were the cutest little babies. They caught the eye of one of our foster families and it wasnā€™t long before they become official family members. Turk is now a seasoned foster brother and has helped numerous puppies and dogs find their fur-ever homes. Emerson was adopted by Turkā€™s momā€™s sister and he is also living his best life. The boys get to see each other all the time and we are so happy that both boys are thriving.

Where are our big dog lovers at?

Bella is a 6-7 year old love muffin who canā€™t wait to be your new best friend šŸ’• She and her brother were abandoned at a local boarding facility and she is eager to start her new life with her fur-ever family. Her brother has been adopted, so now itā€™s her turn!

Bella is the epitome of a bubbly dog and loves everyone she meets. She has the happiest, wiggly body and is quick to cover you in kisses. She has done well living with another dog and seems like she could do well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. She would make a great family dog!

Bella is houstrained and walks well on leash. She is an easy to love girl and just asks for a cozy place to sleep, yummy food, and love. She weighs about 70lbs, but she would benefit from losing some weight. She is guessed to be some sort of lab mix.
