The Yolo County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

The Yolo County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or YCSCPA, was founded in 1974 by a small group of dedicated people committed to improving the lives of animals in the area. Through the years, we have grown and expanded our programs to help better serve the animals, and people, of Yolo County. Through adoption events, public education and outreach, and active promotion of the benefits of spaying and neutering, Yolo County SPCA strives to provide a better future for the people and pets in our community.

🇦🇺 Ready for a walkabout? These three Aussies are ready to hop out of foster care and straight into your heart! 🌿

Meet Wombat, Dingo, and Wally — three little bush babies who are ready to turn your home into their own outback adventure. 🏡

🐻 Wombat is the playful, outgoing one, always tumbling into mischief with her siblings. She takes a minute to size up new people (very wombat of her), but once you’re her person, she’s all in — following you from room to room, chirping for attention, and settling in for long, purr-filled cuddles.

🐕 Dingo is a little gentleman with a big heart, right in the middle of every wrestling match until he’s tuckered himself out. Then, he’s off hunting for the nearest warm lap to curl up in. He’s endlessly curious and loves supervising your every move, whether you asked for his help or not.

🦘 Wallaroo (aka Wally) is the kind of kitten who gives you everything he’s got. He races around all day with his siblings, and the moment he’s worn out, he’s in your lap, purring like a revved-up ute and chatting away with his adorable little meow.

All three are deeply bonded and need to be adopted alongside a sibling or into a home with another young kitten who can be their new partner in crime. 🐾💗

Adventurous, comical, and affectionate- Audrey is the complete package!

This 1-year-old bundle of fun is looking for a semi-active home that can keep up with her curious and playful personality. She would thrive in a home with someone who can be home with her often and always have a lap available for cuddles.

Audrey is a petite girl who weighs about 9lbs and our best guess is that she is a Chihuahua/Terrier mix. She loves her dog friends, so she needs a playful doggie sibling in her new home. Being a Terrier mix, she has a high prey drive and needs a home without any cats or other small animal. She has done great with older kids.

Audrey is house-trained with a dog door and happily sleeps through the night in bed with her foster parents. She loves walks and car rides and would be a great sidekick for someone who wants a compact adventure buddy.

Adopt Chas!

Chas is a stunning black and cream tabby. She has larger, darker black stripes on her body and has the cutest pink nose. Her eyes are orangish/ yellow that change colors with the lighting/ weather outside :)

Chas is a veryyy sweet girl. She was hit by a car when she was a kitten and ended up on a euthanasia list. She was pulled by Friends of YCAS and enrolled in the UCD Fracture Program. She was feral and not used to people. Her pelvis was broken, and so were lots of her toe bones. She had some pretty intense orthopedic surgeries and is now living her best life. It took about 48 hours to fully domesticate her, and now she is the sweetest and extremely vocal! She will let you know when she is hungry or wants to play. She enjoys carrying around her mouse and playing with plastic springs. She is a love and sleeps with us every night, as well as loafs on top of us whenever she sees fit. Because of her broken legs when she was a kitten, she does have a slight limp on her right hind leg. She is gaining back strength after surgery - this does not stop her from launching herself into cat trees :)

She loves the dogs in her foster home and has done very well with the cats, too. She is definitely a more submissive girl. She does get a little spooked when you approach her quickly, but if you offer your hand, she will roll right on over. She literally had splints on both of her hind legs and still managed to NEVER have an accident outside of the litterbox. She is AMAZING and has been an absolute joy in our house.

Tadej

Tadej is a black and brown classic tabby with cream under his chin. He has golden eyes.

Tadej is a handsome, brown and black classic tabby. He is such a goofy, talkative boy who will keep you laughing with his antics. This boy loves his toys - his favorite caterpillar, balls, tunnels, Cat Dancer, a piece of string, a feather, bottle cap. Tadej’s world is his toy! He is a confident kitten, bravely exploring the house. He is full of energy, chasing and wrestling with his foster sisters. Tadej also loves to snuggle, nuzzling your neck and letting loose with the loudest purr! He was raised in a home with cats and two gentle dogs. We feel Tadej should be adopted with another kitten or to a home with a resident cat.

Thumb is the friendliest little guy! He is a little velcro kitty that loves to follow you around; he is excellent with other cats and would preferably go to a home where he can have a kitty companion! He’s a very active guy who loves chasing the wand toy. He also enjoys looking out the window and playing with his foster siblings! He’s got a big appetite and an even bigger personality. Beware: if you adopt Thumb, you’ll always have a little shadow following you around.

Run, walk, and support animals at the Davis Turkey Trot!

The 2026 Davis Turkey Trot is on Saturday, November 21st, and the Yolo County SPCA is a beneficiary of the fundraiser. These funds will go towards the care of the foster dogs and cats in our care and help us help even more animals!

Buddy is a handsome grey male with white paws, white chest, and chin. He has a grey spot on his chin that makes a great goatee. Buddy had surgery to remove one eye. He has movie-star good looks.

This handsome, charming, and incredibly soft young gentleman is ready to find his forever home. While he may only have one eye, he has double the love to give and doesn't let anything slow him down! With his stunning gray-and-white tuxedo coat and a heart of gold, he is the perfect blend of playful energy and sweet affection.
