OKP is a non-profit, foster-based rescue (we do NOT have a designated facility for kittens) run by vet students. Orphaned and abandoned neonatal kittens are taken in from the community and given a complete physical exam by the project coordinators who are current veterinary students. These kittens are then fostered by a community of volunteers who bottle-raise them in their own homes. The kittens

are weaned, vaccinated, FeLV tested, spayed or neutered, and dewormed vaccinations before they are put up for adoption, usually by 10-12 weeks of age. Other Useful Links: https://linktr.ee/orphankittenproject

✨️ Feline Feature: Toki! ✨️
Meet Toki! This special boy is an absolute survivor who has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate kitten looking for a forever home full of love and cuddles.
Toki is a gorgeous brown tabby with green eyes, an adorable white tummy, and perfect white socks. While he’s a petite boy, he completely makes up for his size with a loud, rumbling purr and impressively determined headbutts. He is a true shadow and sidekick who just wants to trail you around the house. If you pay attention to him, he’ll roll around in pure joy, begging for his favorites: head scratches, belly rubs, treats, and playtime.
Toki’s journey hasn't been easy. He originally came into rescue with severe bite wounds across his back and a congenital diaphragmatic hernia that severely affected his breathing. But this resilient boy is a fighter. His hernia was successfully surgically repaired, and we are thrilled to share that he has completely recovered from both his wounds and his surgery! Toki is now a vibrant, healthy kitten who beyond deserves a lifetime of yummy snacks, cozy nap spots, and endless affection.
Toki gets along beautifully with other cats and would love a home with a feline friend to play with (given proper, slow introductions). He may do well with older children, though he has not yet met dogs or toddlers. Toki is the perfect best friend, and his future adopter will get the ultimate privilege of becoming the center of his world.

Meet Toast! 🍞Toast is living his best life one silly adventure at a time. He may not always know exactly what’s going on, but he approaches everything with confidence and keeps everyone laughing along the way. His goofy antics and quirky personality are guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and when he’s done being a little troublemaker, he’s happiest curled up in your lap for cuddles. 🐾💕

Toast would love a home with another feline friend to wrestle and play with, but he would also do well as an only pet as long as he gets plenty of love, attention, and playtime. He gets along wonderfully with other cats and has been introduced to a puppy, so he could also thrive with a respectful canine companion. 😸😽

Toast’s uniqueness is not just in his adorable cleft lip and unique head shape, but we suspect toast has a mild version of the neurologic condition called hydrocephalus. This causes him to have some funny mannerisms, such as the cutest head shake when he concentrates really hard on his toys. 🧸Toast has been evaluated by our neurologists who believe it will not affect his quality of life and has not gotten worse.
