🐾 Winter Safety for Pets – Davis Animal Control Reminder ❄️
If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them! Please keep your furry friends safe during freezing weather.
🥶 Bring pets indoors
⏱️ Limit outdoor time & protect paws from ice/salt
🥩 Keep extra food, water & meds ready
🐾 Add pets to your emergency plan
🐕 Use pet-safe de-icer
🧼 Wipe paws after walks
🚘 Tap your hood—cats may hide for warmth

Watch for hypothermia: shivering, lethargy, cold ears/paws, weak cry, stiff body.

If you see symptoms: warm towels, lukewarm water bottles, warm fluids, and call your vet ASAP.

If this is your dog, he’s in our facility. Purple collar with no tag nor microchip. He was picked up yesterday afternoon, 11/17, at the Davis Library. We attempted contact with the possible owner multiple times with no success. Please message us if he’s yours or know who he belongs to!
