Student Camila turnin and burnin at the Davie Rodeo Summer Series 🔥 Making a great run on Jet. Continuing to shave time off their runs. Running a 14.6, so far, their fastest time. I love watching this team continue to advance!! They have been looking awesome. Camila has really come out of her shell and has been turning up the heat in her runs. I have been seeing a whole different kind of rider and competitor out of her lately. It's been great to watch her transform into a true cowgirl! Keep it up, Camila!! ❤️

Yay Maya! I'm so proud of this team. Both horse and rider have been in training on the barrels. This is their first series and only their 3rd race together, and they have been shaving off time with each run. They both are really starting to pull together their turns with more technique and gradually building the speed throughout the pattern. Her horse started off with some challenges in the beginning that we have successfully worked through with training, corrective shoeing, and injections. Now that these two are understanding what they are both capable of, they are matching up together nicely and are making progress together as a team. I'm looking forward to seeing more runs with these two as they continue to advance! Keep up the good work, Maya!!

Student Ruby graduated from my faithful old lesson horse Blackjack to being able to ride my big barrel mare Marley. This was her first lesson on Marley, and she did fantastic!! Ruby got to ride using barrel reins for the first time, too. Since they were shorter, I told her she had to be extra mindful with her hands. I had her learn how to drop her outside rein coming into her turns. This was also a first for her!! After a little bit of practice on some drills. She got it down the first try trotting through the pattern. So proud ❤️ 👏 Great job, Ruby!!

Coming in so calm and cool before their run. Love it.. Student Camila making a nice run on Jet during her lesson. We are starting to crank up the speed. Jet says he's got more to offer, so we are letting him have it!!
Jet runs a beautifully, consistent pattern when running it more collected, so now we are seeing if he can run the same nice pattern if we let him stretch out with more speed coming into the barrels. I told Camila it's time to start pushing him more, to encourage him when he wants to go faster. To stop taking it away from him. I want Camila to be able to keep up with Jet, but while still enforcing Jet to stay adjustable to his rider when going faster, so he doesn't blow past a barrel. Jet has a cocky side, LOL. He loves his job and wants to go out there and get it done once you pick up the reins. Currently, he has what it takes to be a consistent 2D horse. We have been working towards that, so they don't bounce between divisions at the races. They have won money at every race they have entered so far. This past series at Davie Rodeo was their first series together. They did great but were both still figuring each other out so they were floating between the 2D and 3D, but always in the money. So the goal for the next series is to push to stay consistently running in the 2D. We are off to a good start and looking forward toe the Davie Rodeo Summer Series. Barrel student Ruby receiving her awards and winning money at the last race of the Craig Troyer Memorial Buckle Series at Davie Rodeo. This was Ruby's first barrel series and her first time competing in the barrels on Blackjack. She grew so much as a rider during this series. I am so proud of her! She became braver and more confident in her abilities. Ruby is full of personality with a big heart! I have been enjoying everything moment of being apart of her journey to become a barrel racer. When I first started training Ruby how to ride I started her English to give her a good foundation under saddle with her technique, discipline and balance. I told her she would have to earn her way into being allowed to ride in a Western saddle and she did! By the end of the series I told her mom she could ride Western. So her mom bought her a barrel saddle. Ruby was over the moon excited and was able to ride in it for the last race. Now onto bigger a better things. I will be moving her up to a more advanced horse next and getting her ready for the Davie Summer Series. 🥰

Student Veronica loping through the barrel pattern during her lesson on one of the new horses welcomed into my program. Montana is a little rusty and has a couple bad habits, but we have been working through them, and she has been doing much better. The owner has been very happy with this arrangement due to not having the time for her recently.
If you have a horse that you think would do well in a lesson program. A horse that you would like to see worked properly and kept in a routine or needs to be tuned up or needs some training, but you're on a budget. Then, I would be happy to help!! Showclass is welcoming new horses into our lesson program. I am looking for horses that have the ability to jump and / or barrel race. Any tuning up or training to finish them will be free if they are allowed to be used in my program. Message me for further info if interested.
