I love to see happy endings with the horses I've trained. 🥰
This is Bolt. He came to me barely broke with lots of bad habits as a 6yr old. After under going extensive training to help make him a nicer horse both on the ground and under saddle, his owner asked if I could make him into a barrel horse.
I told her, unfortunately I think this boy really wants to jump. He didn't like anything Western related, unless it involved trail rides. So I started to train him over jumps. His heart was in it from the beginning. He came to every jump with confidence and enthusiasm. I knew this boy had the potential to go much further in jumping one day in the near future, but his owner didn't want a jumper.
So she contemplated leasing him out to an English rider who would want to show him, or to just sell him to get a barrel horse. After going back and forth on the idea, and no real takers on a lease or for purchase, Bolts owner decided to take him back home.
I advised her to get into a lesson program with Bolt or to have the help from a trainer to guide her or to ride him, so Bolt could continue to progress and not go backwards with his training.
I stressed to his owner that this was crucial for him to have a successful future. Because Bolt had 6 yrs of doing what he wanted, when and how he wanted before coming to me for training.
Before Bolt left me he was comfortably jumping 2'3, 2'6 with ability to go higher with the right rider.
Prior to returning home, his owner was able to find someone to continue working with Bolt over the jumps.
Well, here he is today at his first official show in the last 2 pictures!!
To all those who didn't snatched this beautiful boy up on a lease or who didn't think he was worth the purchase, you REALLY missed out on a great horse! Bolt is quickly excelling at jumping.
Lol, I know the last 2 pictures don't look like him, but that's because he's sun bleached now.
I am extatic to see Bolt advancing at what he loves doing and happy for his owner. Thank you for the updates on Bolt Michelle Kruchkow. He is loved and missed at my barn.

New student Aura's 3rd lesson. This little girl is so brave and full of personality. She is going to make one hell of a cowgirl one day soon! ❤️

I like to do this exercise with the little ones. It's a fun way for them to learn their balance, and to help them feel more comfortable with the idea of moving while on a horse. So they can know that not every movement means they are going to fall. To feel like they have a since of control over the movement with their body while on a moving horse. To establish stability and learn balance without the fear because fear makes you tense.

Congratulations to my student Sara for winning her first buckle in the Youth Pole Bending at the IBRA Moss Construction Site Buckle Series.
This was her first try at pole bending in a series with her horse Tinker Bell, her horse has only been recently started on the poles.
Sara also improved on her time with the barrels during her time exhibition. She has been working on figuring things out with her new horse and has been practicing hard to be able to enter her in their first official race together.
Their goal is to race in the Davie Rodeo Summer Series, which will be there time to shine, to prove that their ready to race for the following season.
This is a young team. Young rider, with a young horse. So I have been encouraging Sara to take her time. I have high hopes for this team over the summer and for the next season.
Keep up the good work Sara! You and that little mare will get there!! 🤠🤗

New student Abby learning about what it takes to be a cowgirl. Bathing Blackjack after her lesson. Its not all just about getting on to ride. Our horses work hard for us, so proper care is a must.
The magic of what horses can do for your children is amazing.
Blackjack is wonderful with the kids! I watch so many kids advance to become more confident riders and independent with their handling of horses when taking lessons on Blackjack.

Marley said, "Hold on, little one, I got this!!
7yr old student Ruby winning 1st place in the Barrels, 11 and under division and she gave Pole Bending a try for the first time at the Sunshine Ranches Equestrian Park fun show.
This was Ruby's first race on Marley. I told her she was ready to compete on her, so it was time to put her big girl pants on, to just trust Marley and let her work, she will take good care of you!
Love my old barrel mare!! It was so wonderful to watch these two do well together. 🩷 Congratulations, Ruby! Proud of you!!! You were so brave. True little cowgirl in the making. 🤠

Student Julie on Vegas Blackjack. Winning Reserve Champion in the 2'6 Hopeful Jumpers at the Heritage Horse Show. Congratulations!!
When looking at this horse go over jumps, you would never know it is my same 20yr old lesson horse that I use for the kids. 🖤
