Bear breaks into ice cream store, eats until he passes out. In Tahoe, an ice cream shop had just rolled out its new monthly flavor: honey. Locals loved it, but the surprise fans turned out to be much bigger.

On only the second day of serving it, employees unlocked the shop to find tubs of honey ice cream completely devoured and a massive black bear sprawled out on the floor, fast asleep from his feast.
Wildlife officials were called in. Carefully, they managed to wake the bear and guide him out before relocating him to a safer area away from town.

Researchers explained that bears have an extraordinary sense of smell scientists estimate up to seven times better than a bloodhound allowing them to detect food from miles away. It was no wonder the honey ice cream had lured him straight through the shop’s door.

The local wildlife center ended up covering the cost of the ice cream, and when the owner was asked about it, he just laughed: “As long as someone’s paying, I hope he comes back, that’s the fastest we’ve ever sold out.”

An octopus just escaped from a New Zealand aquarium and it’s the ultimate jailbreak story. Inky, a perfectly ordinary octopus, vanished overnight leaving nothing but a wet trail and a slightly open tank lid. No one saw him leave yet somehow he was gone.

Here’s the insane part: Inky climbed out of his tank, crawled across the floor, and squeezed through a pipe only 150 millimetres wide for about 50 metres. That’s narrower than a standard ruler and longer than a swimming pool. And he made it all the way to the ocean. No damage, no witnesses, just pure cephalopod genius.

Octopuses are masters of escape. Their soft bodies can squeeze through any gap bigger than their beak. They’re also incredibly smart, able to solve puzzles, open jars, and even remember things for months. Inky basically treated his tank like a locked cell and decided freedom was worth the risk.

Staff at the aquarium pieced together the escape from the trail and the open lid. Inky was never found again, instantly turning him into a global sensation. People cheered the tiny Houdini of the sea.

Fun fact: octopuses have three hearts, blue blood, and can change colour and texture to blend in perfectly. Combine that with Inky’s brainpower and you get the ultimate escape artist.
