A MEMORIAL DAY SALUTE TO A HEROIC AMERICAN WAR HORSE: STAFF SERGEANT "RECKLESS"! She was just a common little Mongolian mare, owned by a Korean stable boy. But when she entered the service of the US Marine Corps, she heard her calling and became one of our greatest heroes. This little sorrel mare's heroism during heavy combat in Korea was so monumental that for the first time in U.S. history, the Marine Corps promoted a horse to rank.
