This is what every dog should expect during a board and train with me. ❤️

When your dog comes to stay, they’re not just another dog in a kennel, they become part of my daily life. They get structure, training, play, and yes… plenty of cuddles too. My goal is to make my home feel like a safe place away from home, where they can relax, learn, and build confidence.

Is my house picture-perfect? Absolutely not. There are dog toys scattered around, bones on the floor, training equipment in every corner, and noisy cats running around everywhere. 😂

But none of that is what matters.

What matters is that every dog feels safe, loved, understood, and cared for while they’re here. The bond we build is just as important as the obedience we teach. A dog that feels secure is a dog that’s ready to learn.

That’s the kind of board and train experience I strive to provide for every dog that walks through my door. 🐾❤️

Why am I muzzle training my puppy?

It’s not because she’s aggressive. In fact she friendly and a social puppy. However, she doesn’t love having the veterinary staff in her personal space, and that’s okay! Not every dog enjoys being handled by unfamiliar people.

Because she has been stressed at the vet before, I’m conditioning her to happily and confidently wear a muzzle now. By pairing the muzzle with positive experiences, we’re teaching her that the muzzle itself is nothing to worry about.

A muzzle is simply a safety tool, just like a leash or crate. It can help keep everyone safe while reducing stress during veterinary exams, procedures, grooming appointments, or other situations where a dog may feel uncomfortable.

The goal isn’t to suppress behavior. It’s to prepare her for real life situations and set her up for success. Advocating for our dogs means giving them the skills and support they need to navigate challenging situations confidently.

Same dog. Same expectations. Different tools 🔥
It’s not the tool. It’s the training behind it.

This is the level I expect with all my dogs! PM “HEEL” if your dog needs this!

Socialization is one of the most important things for young puppies. It doesn’t mean letting them meet every dog or person. It means safely and positively exposing them to new sights, sounds, people, and environments so they learn the world isn’t scary.

The key is keeping experiences calm, positive, and at the puppy’s pace so they build confidence instead of fear.

Maven has been a great example of this, taking in new experiences and learning how to navigate the world with confidence.

✂️ Does your dog hate grooming?
You’re not alone - and it doesn’t have to be this hard.

We are partnering with K9 Roots Dog Training who will be offering a grooming-specific training course designed for dogs who struggle with the grooming process. This isn’t about forcing them through it — it’s about confidence, trust, and cooperation.

💰All current clients who graduate from this course will receive $25 off your next 2 grooms with me. All waitlisted clients will recieve the same offer IF you become a client, but this does not guarantee you a spot.

Our training focuses on:
🐶 Confidence building
🐶 Desensitization to grooming tools & handling
🐶 Teaching calm, appropriate responses to pressure

Groomers use sharp tools on your pup, and when a dog is panicking, it can quickly become unsafe for everyone. Training helps reduce fear, stress, and risk — making grooming a better experience for your dog and their groomer.

✨ Help me help your dog feel safer, calmer, and more comfortable during grooming.

This video is about nail trims, why they’re crucial to a dog’s health and reading body language during the process.

Nail trims are a very important part of a dog’s overall health. Overgrown nails can cause pain, affect the way a dog walks, put stress on their joints, and even lead to injuries or long-term orthopedic issues. Keeping nails properly trimmed helps dogs move comfortably and confidently.

To many people, Lilly may appear “fine” or even happy in this video, but that’s not the full picture. You can see clear signs of stress: ears pinned back, heavy panting, lip licking, and her pulling her paw away. These are subtle but important signals dogs use to communicate discomfort.

I had never trimmed Lilly’s nails before and didn’t know how she would respond. Before bringing out the clippers, we played and had fun to help set a positive tone. We were in an empty room with no distractions so she could focus and feel as comfortable as possible. I also go much slower than most people would during nail trims. If a dog moves while you’re clipping, it’s very easy to hit the quick, which can cause bleeding and make the experience far more stressful for the dog. Going slow helps keep them safe and builds trust. During the nail trim, I talked to her the entire time, stopped after each nail, and gave praise and breaks to keep things as low-stress as possible. The leash was on to help maintain control and ensure safety if needed.

This isn’t about forcing compliance, it’s about understanding the dog in front of you, meeting them where they are, and building trust. Lilly is currently boarding with me for a few days, and this is just one step in helping her feel more comfortable with necessary handling like nail trims.

If you have any training needs, feel free to message me. I offer individual training sessions, dog sitting, and board-and-train programs
