Scott County Kennel Club Serving the Illinois and Iowa communities since 1943 with quality canine instruction in all aspects of competitive and companion training.

We offer training classes for agility, conformation, herding, obedience, puppies, scent work, and rally. We also host American Kennel Club licensed shows and trials, an annual genetic screening clinic, and fun events throughout the year. Our membership meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Congratulations to the latest handler/dog teams who completed a six week training cycle earning their Certificate of Completion for Beginner 2 - K9 obedience!

Beginner 2 Obedience training is for dog teams that are ready to work and perform at an intermediate level. Many participants have earned or qualify to earn the AKC Canine Good Citizen title (CGC). Among many qualifications, dogs attending this training must be able to tolerate other dogs and handlers without showing any aggression or great distraction. They must be able to stay for at least 1 minute in a sit and down exercise, they must be able to heel properly, and be able do an off leash recall from a distance.

It was Dog Day at CR Hanna Grade School in Orion today. Huge thanks to Scott County Kennel Club and Quad City Dog Obedience Club members and some friends for sharing their knowledge and dogs with 4 classes of 2nd Graders. Special people and special dogs for sure.

Huge thanks to all the SCKC members who helped make our agility trial a success - and all the many others who stepped up to help out. We had a great weekend! 2 MACH bars handed out. A PACH bar to faithful friend and secretary Carolyn Venaglia and Leonard. We celebrated Ed Raisbeck's 85th birthday. Judge Dawn Glaser-Falk was lots of fun to work with, and her courses were very fun also. Plus totally beautiful weather!!
