Happy Spring!

If you haven’t noticed yet the allergies are out in full bloom. If you notice your dog chewing at their paws or shaking their head it could be the cause of allergies and you should call the office to set up an appointment or at your primary veterinarian office. We hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather! 🙂

This is our annual reminder that Easter Lilies are very poisonous to cats. As beautiful as they are they should not be gifted to any friends or family who have a cat as part of their household. Clinical signs are often not seen until the damage is irreversible. Please spread the word to your feline loving friends as it could potentially save a life.

I just wanted to make a post about bird flu(avian influenza), as it's become a hot topic and a national concern. Unfortunately there is bird flu in the northeast and everyone should keep themselves and their pets away from birds that are acting unusual, sick, or dying. In order to prevent illness, birdfeeders and bird baths should be regularly disinfected. Also, those who feed raw diet to their pets should consider switching to a cooked diet as the bird flu has been spread through raw turkey meat in cat food already and is a risk for dogs as well. If you do notice birds that are unwell there is a reporting line ..
Happy new year to everyone! Stay healthy and happy💕Dr. Kleinfeld

While the risk of a domesticated cat getting infected is small, veterinarians say to keep it indoors and avoid feeding it raw food.
