As much as we truly love and appreciate our clients and patients, we felt that we needed to do a little “house cleaning” publicly regarding clinic policies and expectations so that we can continue providing the best care possible to everyone, including emergencies. ❤️🐾
• One of the special things about our clinic is that we still offer emergency services within reason 24/7 for our ACTIVE patients.
An active patient means we have current records for that pet and they have had their annual exam and vaccines with us within the current calendar year. We are proud to continue offering this level of care for our community, especially in a rural mixed animal setting where emergency options can be limited.
• Outside pharmacy medications for exotic patients require at least a 24-hour turnaround time.
Please note: requests made on Fridays may not be called in until Monday unless deemed urgent by the doctor.
• Medication refill requests require 24–48 hours.
Please do not wait until your pet is completely out of medication before requesting refills.
• Phone call backs may take 24–48 hours unless it is an emergency.
True emergencies will always be addressed as quickly as possible.
• If your pet is experiencing an emergency or urgent medical concern, PLEASE CALL FIRST.
Messages sent through refill requests, texts, Facebook, or other messaging systems may not be seen immediately and are not appropriate for urgent situations.
• As a rural clinic, there may occasionally be phone or internet interruptions outside of our control.
If this happens, please check our page, as we actively post updates there to keep clients informed of any ongoing issues or alternate ways to contact us.
• If your pet is worked in as a drop-off or urgent care appointment, please understand that wait times can and often will occur.
These appointments are being added into an already fully scheduled day, and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.
• Because we provide emergency care for active patients 24/7, there may be occasions where true emergencies delay scheduled appointments.
We sincerely apologize when this happens, but emergency patients must take priority. If timing becomes an issue for you, we are always happy to help reschedule your appointment.
• If your pet is not improving or symptoms continue returning, your pet likely needs to be re-evaluated by the doctor.
Medicine is not always one-size-fits-all, and follow-up exams are often necessary to properly address ongoing concerns and keep your pet comfortable long term.
We know policies are not always fun to read, but they are necessary in order for us to continue serving our community, caring for emergencies, and protecting the time and wellbeing of our staff as well as our patients. Thank you to the many wonderful clients who continue to support, respect, and trust us every single day. We truly appreciate you all more than you know. ❤️🩺
