🐾 Happy Dog Day! 🐾

You know we love hanging out with our wonderful and adoptable dogs at DCHS. Well this past Saturday, 13 great dogs got an early jump on Dog Day! With the help of our awesome participants and local businesses, each furfriend had a fantastic day.

A helpful tip from our friend at Purrs McBarkin' !

During the Fourth of July celebrations, the loud fireworks can cause many dogs to become frightened, leading to a significant number of them escaping from their homes. It is estimated that more pets go missing on the Fourth of July than on any other day of the year.

Here’s a simple “just in case” tip… Write your current phone number on painter's tape and attach it to your pet's collar, as shown in the photo. This way, if your pet runs away, they can quickly be identified and returned home.

You know what? Let's go ahead and do one more....a rescue in New York noticed this girls good manners and said "Put her on the bus!". Reign has her bags packed and waiting patiently for her chance to load up Friday night.

Her fieldtrippers fell hard for this gal and gave her a perfect day out. Thank you! Happy Tails, Reign. 💕

Look who else is getting on the bus! Great job, Diesel! He did so well on his field trip, another rescue snatched him up! No more concrete kennels for this beautiful boy! He's off to find his very own family. Thanks to his volunteer for showcasing what a good boy Diesel is! ❤️

Who did we get a picture of this morning getting her very own Freedom Fries?? 🍟

Sweet, sweet Zola received a private transport this morning from a dedicated volunteer to one of our rescue partners, ART. Thank you to her fieldteippers for the great pictures and glowing report card! We are so happy to see this beautiful gal get a second chance at her happily ever after. 🐾💕

Last Saturday, DCHS ran a 'mini' version of our usual adventure because of the heat. 🥵 The shelter remains at max capacity, but we knew we had to get some dogs noticed quickly! 🐕 Our supporters showed up big time! Stay close so we can keep you updated on your hard work. ❤️

Don't forget: Our Annual NUCOR Adoption event is this Saturday, June 29th starting at 11am. Yes, still hot 🔥 , but we have ice cream! 🍦
