Little Vader is perfectly happy with the simple
things in life.

Vader joined us last week after being stuck in isolation at the shelter. His bacterial skin infection is improving and now he is enjoying life in his foster home. ❤️‍🩹

Welcome to Rescue, Vader!

Update: potential location found. ❤️
In search of a parking lot that we could use for a drive-through pet pantry for two different dates.

I can just tell Buttons is asking “but why didn’t you feed & water me today?”

Happy neuter day for this little fellow!

He may or may not have taken matters into his own paws & slurped up some ketchup from an open packet. 🤦‍♀️

Let’s talk about cats & dogs…

We often have people ask if a dog is cat friendly which is really such a complicated question.

1️⃣ A lot depends on your cat(s)…
Does your cat run? Does it stand its ground? Does it like dogs?

✨You may surprised to know there are cats that are aggressive towards dogs.

2️⃣ Then you have the dog…
Does the dog chase cats? Are you able to recall a dog if it does chase? Is the dog aggressive with a cat? Will they follow another dog if it chases a cat? Are they unbothered?

Exhibit A: Two of my personal pets, Dug & PawPaw. These two sleep together most nights but if another dog chases PawPaw he is absolutely participating. Dug also has an arch nemesis in cat form. He absolutely DOES NOT like our cat, Kitty Powers.

Would I consider him cat friendly? Yes, he lives in a home with multiple cats. This doesn’t mean he is always cuddling with our cats but he isn’t trying to “take them out” either.

What does it mean if we list a dog as “no cats”? We list dogs as “no cats” when they exhibit obsessive interest in our feline friends or if they tend to chase cats.

🛑 We DO NOT list dogs for adoption that have k!lled another dog or a cat. No exceptions.

👋 Hi Again, I’m Rufus!

Rufus is around 4 months old & 17lbs. We aren’t sure of his breeds but would assume he will be a large adult.

He is a great puppy and would make the perfect addition to almost any home. He loves to play with other dogs, hang out with his people, & go on walks.
