Although cats don't have leash laws, we STRONGLY recommend providing identification for your cats, particularly if they're indoor/outdoor. State & local ordinances don't require shelters to place a stray hold on cats.

To protect yourself & the animal, please do NOT attempt to handle a sick, injured, or loose animal. Instead, call Animal Control (M-F 8-4) or the Danville P.D. non-emergency dispatch (all other times).

If you choose to, you can stay with the animal until Animal Control arrives, but please do NOT load it up & bring it to the Humane Society's building.

We are kicking things off here with a MISSION!! Let’s get our longest resident EVER, Coco, a forever home or foster.

She has been here 15 months now. She’s such a sweet girl, and you can tell how grateful she is to have been rescued.

Coco grew up on a chain where she was a few feet away from another dog, but they couldn't touch. Unfortunately, that experience created some socialization issues for Coco with other dogs. But, Coco has come so far from her days on a chain, and she’s making amazing progress with training!

While she’s not ready to live with other animals just yet, she’s learning to trust again and adores her human companions. She just searching for someone who sees her potential and is ready to support and love her through the rest of her healing journey.

The basics like regular food, a warm bed, and some genuine love are more than enough for this girl. And we know she will reward her fur-ever family with loyalty and gratitude.

Are you the angel Coco has been waiting for? More info here: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/coco-save-2-lives-by-rescuing-one-71153128/ky/lancaster/kentucky-saving-them-together-inc-ky535/

Please share as you may know Coco’s forever family!!

Our FOF Squad!!!

Thanks to everyone who came out to Morley's Backyard yesterday despite the crazy weather.

Dogs found their forever homes and money was raised. But mostly we had a blast and got to enjoy our team and wonderful community.
