Happy Monday to us! We had to buy a new dryer from Lowes 😓$657 total with delivery.

They say when it rains, it pours and we are feeling that lately here. Luckily these pictures of adoptable Kane on his last field trip can brighten our day. He’s 6 years old, super sweet, a chill couch potato, and can live with cats, kids, and all people. He wants to go HOME! 🐾❤️

We are looking for much needed dog help at our shelter. The economy has affected many, and here at the Humane Society we have felt the hit. We get no funding from anyone. We do not have our building costs, maintenance, or anything covered by a state, county, or city fund. This also means paying our staff comes from fundraisers, thrift shop, and donations. We are always worried about our future and how long we can last this way with rising costs.

To help reduce payroll costs we are looking for a few amazing volunteers. We only have 4 dogs in the building and will not be taking more for quite a while. We are hoping some dog lovers with a morning, afternoon, or evening to spare could be one of our dog caretakers. This is not a typical volunteer opportunity where you just help out a staff member; you would be the one in charge of cleaning, feeding, and giving medications as needed. This requires a responsible, independent, and trustworthy person. Because this is for replacing a staff member, we are not looking for someone to pop in on occasion. We need someone with the availability to commit to a set time on a weekly basis.

The Humane Society of Danville will have staff and volunteers at this event in the lobby collecting much needed donations! Bring a monetary or supply donation and get a free popcorn 🍿🐾

Supplies needed include litter, paper towels, dry cat food, peanut butter, and dog chews. Hope to see you there!
