is a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue organization made up of a small group of volunteers in Boone County, WV (south of Charleston)
We do not have a facility or shelter. We primarily rescue dogs from the local high kill Boone County dog pound as well as some animals from within the community who need immediate assistance. Most animals are sent to out of state rescues however, we do adopt to the communi

ty on occasion to qualified applicants. All dogs are required to be spayed/neutered before they will be adopted out. All rescues are possible through donations, adoptions, foster homes, rescues and volunteers. $5 FRIDAY IS BACK, AND NEW. NOW THROUGH JULY WE WILL BE FOCUSING OUR $5 FRIDAYS ON OUR FOSTERS!!! FOSTERS ARE STAYING MUCH LONGER WITH THEIR FOSTER PARENTS THAN IN THE PAST AND NEED SOME EXTRA SUPPORT.

THIS WEEK WE HAVE MIDNIGHT AND PHANTOM. NEIGHBORHOOD STRAYS THEIR WHOLE LIFE ALONG THE BOONE/RALEIGH COUNTY LINE. THEY WERE FED AND CARED FOR BY AN ELDERY LADY DOING THE BEST SHE COULD. WE HELPED DONATE FOOD TO KEEP THEM FED. THINGS TOOK A TURN FOR THE WORSE WHEN MIDNIGHT RETURNED TO HER HOME WITH ATTACK WOUNDS FROM ANOTHER ANIMAL AND HIS BROTHER WAS LATER FOUND ABOUT 2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD WITH NO INJURIES. BOTH HOWEVER HAVE TICK BORN ISSUES AND HAVE BEEN VETTED AND MOVED TO FOSTER CARE.

Update we can only take 10 female and 10 male. We have only 3 female spots left and 7 male spots left as of 3:30 today.

B.A.R.C. has been awarded its FIRST ever WV Dept. of Agriculture/WV SNP grant to help the animals of Boone County. We will now be accepting applications for 20-24 Cats on a first come, first serve basis for June 24,2026. LIMIT 3 Cats per household and requires a $5 non-refundable fee to hold your spot.
B.A.R.C will be providing transportation to and from the Fix’em Clinic for this trip. Owner is required to meet at Lucky Dog Thrift parking area at 7 am and pickup between 4-6 pm.

WHAT’S COVERED: SPAY/NEUTER PROCEEDURE, PAIN MEDS, RABIES VACCINE, AND TRANSPORTATION

FLEA MEDICATIONS $6-8(24 hr) $15-20(monthly) WORMER $10-45
EAR CLEANING/TREATMENT $10 NAIL TRIMS $20
ADDITIONAL VACCINCES ( FVRCP $16 AND FeLV $16)

Once we receive your information and have your application completed, we will contact you to collect all fees and provide payment options.

Additional trips for dogs/cats will be posted at later times as we track our funding and appointment availability. NO SHOWS will be moved to the end of the list, forfeit your $5 and may be responsible for paying if grant money runs out.

Update: Owner has posted below. We were out last night and this morning and still no sightings of this dog. This dog is 17 years old and needs caught and back home. If you see this dog, please put him in your fenced in yard or keep him contained until owners can pick him up.
