This sweet 3 year old Stud C**t came to SSF’s about 3 months ago. His hocks were bad was all I was told. I had two Equine Vets out to the farm for evaluation and X-ray’s. He apparently was born with an infection in his bones and it was never treated. Both of his hocks have taken a toll from arthritis and I was given no hope for his future and to go a head an put him down. Let me tell you about Tomohawk “Hawk” he’s all Stallion but the sweetest when it comes to us Cowgirls. I’m gonna give him his best life. As long as he’s up and moving he seems fine. We’ll see what the cold weather holds for him. I’ve not given him pain medication in two months. His swelling in both hocks has drastically decreased. Come Monday morning he’s going to become a Gelding (poor boy). He’s gonna get feet trimmed while he’s out. Say a prayer for him. He’s already been through so much in his young life. I just pray I can give 5 good years of grazing and living the good life.
