Labor Day, Garden State All Terrier Club, Fast CAT with Monty The Therapy Dog and his girl Nella (CH Afterglow’s Fenella) Afterglow Kennels.

Monty scorched his second run today! Check out his speed! He almost broke his personal best run time of 11.51 seconds ! (17.77mph)

Monty: Run 1 12.52 seconds / 16.34 mph
Run 2 12.04 seconds / 16.99mph
* brings Montys points to 1394.61 which is only 105.39 points away from FCAT2 title! (He averages about 65 points every day he runs)

Nella also ran again and she was in full terrier mode today. She WANTED to run there was zero hesitation and we had to drag her away from the lure. She’s hooked now!

Nella: Run 1: 17.58 seconds / 11.64 mph
A decent improvement over yesterday and still great for an 8yr old retired champion. We want her to ease into this sport to make sure her body recovers and stays healthy and strong but I think she will definitely continue with getting her Fast CAT titles! Now we are thinking it’s time to see if she likes Barn Hunt too!

Monty The Therapy Dog is having a fun “no labor” Day weekend with his best gal Nella (CH Afterglow Kennels Fenella)

Monty is getting close to his FCat2 title (1500 points)! The little nugget does so well in New Jersey! Monty would like to thank his buddy, Dan for helping him stay in tip top shape for running! Monty and Dan race along the fence line when Dan is hunting the groundhogs that break into Monty’s yard!

Nella girl this was her very first time running and we didn’t not know what to expect. She was hesitant for a brief moment and then took off running! We were shocked! She is in love with this sport now.

Back tomorrow for more FAST CAT!

Monty:
Run 1-12.46 seconds / 16.42 mph
Run 2-12.27 seconds / 16.67 mph

Nella:
Run 1-18.78 seconds / 10.89 mph
Only ran once we didnt want to push the old gal she hasnt been working out like mr monty. But this was great for an 8yr old Scottie’s first time !

I am so proud of Monty The Therapy Dog. Today was his very first Agility trial. Jumpers and Weaves he did amazing. Except last jump our wires got crossed and he took finish pole in reverse for a Non-Qualifying score. Everything else was amazing!

Standard Agility he was so excited almost got a jump start on me but then succumbed to terrier mode (sniffing). We timed out unfortunately with too many faults but we got the first under our belt.

I am very pleased with how well we did for our very first agility trial!

And awarded High in Class!!

And we got to meet another Scottie, Freya and her mom Christine. Freya has a great future in the sport, she’s not even 1yr old yet!

Monty The Therapy Dog and Tracy Gasdik Krapf met a new friend during their visit to Pediatrics today. Our new friend blessed us with a lovely gift of lip balm and a “Never Fight Alone” bracelet. Monty is going to wear it on his therapy dog collar especially for our new friend. We fight with you sweet girl! Thank you for the gift and for allowing us to visit. 💕🩷💖
